Charlie Thorne and the Last Equation [Gibbs, Stuart] on desertcart.com. *FREE* shipping on qualifying offers. Charlie Thorne and the Last Equation Review: Very Impressed - Of all the protagonists that Stuart Gibbs has created, Charlie Thorne is by far his best character. She may be depicted as an antihero, but she is a worthwhile role model for young girls everywhere. Highly recommend, and I hope to introduce my niece to this series in due time. Review: Fun for all ages, the Da Vinci code for kids. - This book is both an international thriller and a cool, funky mystery. A fun, middle-grade adventure. My son and I (he's a 4th grader) both read it and enjoyed the thrill of a young lady hero, a genius and X-game-level athlete, in the element of solving a mystery while being chased by "bad guys." Stuart Gibbs does it again!

My daughter loves the book!
I bought this book because my upcoming 6th grader had to choose a summer book to read and do a one-page paper on it for school next year (the school gave the children 6 choices and this is the one she chose). Anyway, she likes this book so much that she asked be if I can buy the other Charlie Thorne books by the same author.

Not a family audiobook
I listened to other reviewers that this was a good adventure for kids, but it is definitely not for all ages--and I have some reservations as the parent. My 7-year-old found it too intense and scary. Especially Charlie's bad behavior like stealing a truck, and when she is chased by (adult men) terrorists, which is much of the story. My 10 & 13 year old boys found it super interesting and exciting. They were engaged all the way through and loved hearing Charlie match wits with bad guys. Not once did it come across as a "girls only" adventure. As adults, my husband and I also found it interesting. It was smart with actual clues, funny at times, and with a real cast of developed characters--including bad guys with real intensity and motive. But there are things as parents we wished our kids weren't hearing: There was only one real swear (d*it), but frequent crude language (sucks, crap) and the genius IQ pre-teen regularly refers to people not at her (everyone) level as stupid/idiots. Charlie also likes to tease her male & female (adult) CIA agent accomplices about their relationship. She makes jokes about kissing and being together, and one time she suggests to the male agent that perhaps he'd like to share a bed with the female agent and they can do some kissing before they fall asleep. Also, some of the fight scenes and violence were a bit intense and graphic. There are situations of guns placed in mouths, descriptions of people who die with all their bones broken and blood pouring out, or after their heads slam into things etc. So, give to a kid with caution. I would err on the older side with the age recommendation on this one, and it is definitely an action story for readers who are not sensitive.

Great book!
10/10 would recommend reading! Wonderful book, but maybe read it when you are above 10 or 13. There is a bit of violence in it like gunfights and that sort of stuff. Another thing is that the villain is inspired by a hatred of immigrants so itโs a rather sensitive topic. Over all, I would recommend to 10 or above! Enjoy!

Literary nasty piece of subliminal work to put immigrants in bad light and fuel/reinforce the racist mindset of his native own. Couldn't read further, binned.

I ordered this book yesterday and received it today. It is not a new condition as you see these pictures. It's really disappointing!
