Versatility multiplied
This attachment has increased my scope of service ten fold. The Dremel is a very viable tool with the router assembly for smaller, more precise work that a conventional router is just too cumbersome and overpowered for.

Great for Small Projects, Vacuum Attachment Would be Perfect
Overall this plunge router kit worked great, easy to assemble with minimal fuss. The Dremel felt very secure in the tool and was easy to change bits with minimal effort. My intended use case was to router out some letters for an engraved epoxy table top, so I was using a 1/8โ bit in multiple passes to reach a desired depth for pouring. For a baseline, this was my first project using a handheld router, plunge or otherwise, for routing designs. Pros: - Once youโre at depth, the tool makes it easy to see exactly where the bit is (good visibility overall) - The depth lock knob (rotating one of the handles) worked well and is what I used pretty much exclusively Cons: - There is no form of dust collection attachment to hook up a vacuum to keep things clean as you work. As a result, I found myself either having to stop and vacuum often (at least once a minute or so in my use case) or risk overshooting my guide lines. If youโre free-handing a design or not looking to take too much material per pass, this would be great. However, if your use case involves taking a large amount of shavings a good amount of material per pass while trying to follow lines, Iโd recommend investing in a router with vacuum attachment.

Works great with Milwaukee M12 Rotary Tool
Lots of complaints about "stiff springs" or "hard to plunge" but the only time i had that issue is if i didn't loosen the plunge lock knob enough. It is a relatively fine adjustment and takes SEVERAL turns before the plunge function is smooth and easy. This is a feature not a bug. The depth stop sucks big time, never stays where you put it since they are plastic threads that just vibrate loose. But I don't really think it's that necessary on a cheap flimsy tool. This thing is exactly what you should get for the price, you want a little better accuracy and quality then buy a WEN router for $20-$40 more. Perfect, exactly the right price, exactly what I needed for some routing in some custom 2x4 lumber shelves I'm making. Make sure everything is tight and you fully seat the tool straight and it works well. You get what you pay for, this tool is exactly what you need if you are shopping in this price point.

Saved me from buying a full size router
I needed to route out some hinge mounts for a door and don't own a full size dedicated router. Someone had suggested I look into this adapter for a Dremel tool I already owned. I looked at this in a big box store and and then thought about checking Amazon. I got this for half of what I would have paid in the store. Woohoo! I was having trouble deciding whether to buy it or not because the one in the store came with a straight edge guide. In reading the details about the one I bought on Amazon, I did not see this feature mentioned. I was thinking that perhaps it might be worth it to get the one from the store just for that feature, but ultimately decided that for the project I was buying it for, I would not need it and decided that the 50% savings would outweigh a future benefit I may or may not ever use. I was pleasantly surprised to see that the unit I received did, in fact, include the straight edge guide. Big win for me. I had also read another review that said that the purchaser's Dremel tool would not fit securely in the adapter even though the manufacture indicated it would . I had the same series of tool and was worried about that also, but figured I could return it if it did not fit properly. Again, no worries. My Dremel fit securely and the whole unit functioned just like I would expect a small router to. I wouldn't want to tackle any large projects with this, and certainly would not want to use it on a construction site, but if you are only going to use it once in a while for small needs, it is more than adequate and will save you a ton of money if you do not need to outfit a woodshop. I'm glad I bought this.

limited use. Disappointed
I purchased this for freehand routing stenciled letters into wood. Previously I had used my dremel and straight router bit with the spiral saw guide for this. The reason I upgraded (barely) to this was for the ability to have a controlled plunge into the material and to have a wider and more stable platform to grip for more control. Here is what I found: Pros: I did get more control in freehand routing with this wider platform and was able to keep my fingers a safer distance from the cutting bit than by using the spiral saw guide. I also had improved visibility to my stencil marks with the clear plastic. Cons: The plunge capability on this thing is worthless. It has too much tolerance on the gaps between the rods and housing so when you plunge it down it still wants to bind and enter the workpiece crooked. The locking mechanism once plunged is to tighten one handle knob several rotations. This requires removing a hand and as you're tightening the knob, the bit wants to travel all over the place, ruining your piece. The clear plastic base leaves nowhere for the sawdust to go. With the spiral saw guide I was able to simply lightly blow the dust away with my mouth as I went so I could continue to see what I was doing. When you blow on this thing, there's nowhere for the dust to escape really and I simply couldn't generate enough wind to keep the visibility clear. I ended up keeping a blow nozzle attached to an air hose layed over my shoulder as I worked to keep the sawdust clear. In conclusion, the only real benefit to this thing over using the platform from the spiral saw attachment was the added safety factor of keeping my hands further from the bit. Overall I'm disappointed and regret the purchase. The worst part is this was such a great idea and dremel screwed it up with a half a$$ed design.

The attachment I didn't know that was so important for woodworking diy.
I wish to have a second dremel in future to use this as a permanent router! Perfect... find a video for the set up and follow step by step the instructions.
