How do you clean these before reuse?

When used with water based paints/stains, I just washed with mild dish soap and ran warm water until it ran clear. Then laid on a folded paper towel to dry. When I used these with shellac based or oil, I wrapped in plastic wrap between coats and then tossed when finished.

Are these made in the USA?

Packaging says locally owned with a picture of Louisiana. Does not indicate where they are manufactured...I would presume China

The stick is in the foam and not just glued to the edge - to the beat of my recollection.
