Twist-Off Bottle Opener for Weak Hands & Seniors with Arthritis

This is so easy to use & a perfect size. I'm going to get one for everyone I know. It helps with opening all kinds of bottles & jars. It's very sturdy & high quality that will last for years. It is easy to grip & functions very easily for arthritic hands.

I was looking for something to help my wife open her daily protein water, especially when I am not available. These things are a bear for me to open even with full hand strength, so she has no chance with her grip issues and tremors. I checked a lot of openers, both hand-held and under-cabinet mount. Most of the hand-held are massive and expensive, which is great if you are opening a giant jar of pickles but not real helpful for sports drink sized caps. When I saw this little gem I was a bit skeptical since it was small and has a plastic handle. Something told me to give it a try. When I received it an opened the package I was pleasantly surprised that the plastic handle is really stout (not hollow, possibly melamine) and feels good in the hand. I tried it out first, seemed to be quite a bit easier to open a bottle. Let my wife know it was in the fridge with her drinks, waited for feedback. Several days later she held it up for me to see and proclaimed it was fantastic. I watched her use it and it only took moderate strength to crack the lid open, haven't had to help her since. Happy wife, happy life! Liked it so much I just ordered a second one for my mother. Might even get one for my desk at work, for the occasional vending machine visit.

Amazing! Easy! No effort needed!

Best return for my money ever! I’m 79 years old and have had trouble getting bottles and jars opened for years. I always had to depend on my husband and once when he wasn’t home, I had to get help from a neighbor. My husband is older than me and starting to have difficulty, too, so I thought I’d try this. It works great! It’s especially easy to loosen those ridged caps, but it even works on smooth ones. I even use it on the caps of half gallon almond milk cartons by bending the top of the carton enough to get the opener on the caps. Can’t say enough good about this! I even bought one for a friend.

This is a handy gadget. I often have trouble opening jars and now that my son moved out, I have no one to ask to open a darn jar. I'm not calling him to drive over and open a jar, and don't want to wait until he stops by so this fills the void (it's not a conversationalist though). It seems a bit small, but so far I have not had a lid that is too wide to fit. It gives just enough leverage. I'm glad I ordered it before I needed it. It's much easier than running a lid under hot water or pounding a lid with a knife handle.

This opener would be enhanced were it available in a transparent version. We use it for opening plastic flavored water bottles which are thin enough to leak the liquid out of the top of the bottle if you're even if you're holding it very gently while turning the opener or the bottle itself. A different brand of drink that comes in a thicker bottle is of course more expensive, but the opener works reliably and more consistently. Transparency would ensure that the opener remained level on the cap, another possible source of leaking. This opener justifies its billing for weak hands & Seniors with arthritis. This opener is easily seen, safe to use, and easily located. Caveat: this review is limited to one type of bottle. My observations may be skewed by my Essential Tremor.

Grandma always asks me to open caps for her. Her arthritis has been worsening and I looked up some aids for arthritis and came across this. I tested it out and she has used it and we were both VERY impressed with how well the teeth grab and how easy it is to turn. I will say, it's easier to start turning with the opener to crack the seal, then turn the bottle itself rather than the opener. Seems durable, teeth are sharp, plastic is sturdy, etc. Made a great gift. She was delighted with it.
