Great Value
I now have 4 of these enclosures. Great for creating your very own external M.2 SATA SSD drive. Over the years I have come to rely on the Vantec brand name for any and all my external drive needs regardless of drive format, in my opinion they truly are a great value for the money.

Bonito y funcional pero medio lento.
La carcasa es bonita, firme y se siente de buena calidad.El PCB se siente medio corriente y no se si mi unidad esta defectuosa o asi se supone que debe de funcionar al hacerlo externo, sólo alcanza 44 mbps de lectura y escritura, cuando su capacidad es de 600 mbps.

Good so far
I bought this because I my previous, cheaper Chinese USB-C M.2 enclosure had power issues. I'm happy to report that this unit does not suffer from any reliability problems after a good week of solid use. The unit is actually much smaller that the photos make it appear. It is solid aluminum, however the bottom plate is plastic and actually cheapens the feel of the otherwise solid design. My only other complaint is a pretty petty one, but the LED power light is unnecessarily bright... Like ridiculously bright. It's actually annoying in a dark room.Finally, the supplied USB-C cable works fine with my 2017 Macbook Pro, but it does not work with my 2018 Mac Mini for some reason. Not a big deal, as I have few USB-C cables on-hand.

Sadly it's slow
Looks nice BUT sadly it is much slower than my other USB3.1 enclosure. The write speeds are similar at just over 400mb/s but read speeds drop to 340mb/s compared to 500mb/s on my other enclosure. Cheap but disappointing performance.

Worthless, write protect switch does not work.
This is a piece of junk. The reason I bought this is because it has the write protect switch. But the switch is useless. When it's lock, I still can delete, move and transfer the files. It's not suppose to do that. When it's lock, it suppose to protect the files from deleting or moving the files in or out. But it's not doing that. In order to return the item or exchange, Amazon will charge me $6.99. It's not even worth to return it. Now I'm stuck with this piece of garbage. Is Amazon start charging customers for returning or exchanging the item?
