Triple Eight Hired Hands Glove – Wrist Protection for Skateboarding, in-Line Skating, Rollerblading, and Roller Derby

I searched long and hard for gloves to wear while long boarding. My hands are small and gloves are either bulky(adult men’s) or too small (kids sizes). I was worried about these fitting and because of some of the reviews about quality. But when I got them I was pleasantly surprised to see they fit my fingers well but were a little tight. They are very sturdy and will protect well. After a few wears they seem to be stretching and not be so stiff. Overall happy.

These are fantastic gloves for anyone who finds standard wrist guards lacking in overall hand protection. I mostly roller skate outside, and when I fall on my hands the pads of my thumbs take the brunt of the fall way more than my wrists. Standard wrist guards leave that thumb pad wide open for injury. These gloves have saved my hands many, many times over since I bought them 6 months ago. I wear them at least 3-4 times a week and they’re still holding strong. You’re supposed to hand wash them but when you wear them as much as I do, I recommend a long soak in a water/vinegar solution prior to washing. Because WOW do these start to smell ripe after a few weeks of sweat.

These are great if you need wrist and palm protection from falls for extreme sports. My wrists have been fractured and tweaked a lot in my life (and not even from skating) so I really mostly worry about them when I fall off my skateboards. These definitely make me feel more willing to push myself and my ability because they quite solidly protect the whole wrist and palm area and I can fall without having to put so much pressure on those areas. The bar that curves into the palm area is well placed and sturdy enough to hold my 200lb body, although I feel it's NOT well suited if you wanted to use them for downhill slide gloves (get gloves with the discs). You can wear these loose or really wrap the velcro strip tight, they stay on almost too well, but they provided a pull loop to help get them off. You can still quite easily use a phone or eBoard remote with these on, yea for cut off gloves! I forsee these lasting for a good time, but I will update my review if that changes. My only complaint is that the black dye they use for the fabric and strap came off on my sweaty skin for the first few wears (this is not easy to wash off, but it will go away). I have had this issue with other skating products that are black and believe it's a newer cheaper dye that many companies are using. I would gladly upgrade my my review to 5 star if y'all were to reach out to me and possibly change whatever dye(s) do this as I feel it's NOT good for me or any of your potential customers. This kind of dye will also permanently stain white clothing so also keep that in mind. With that said, this is one of the better extreme sport companies so these gloves are good, I just wish the dye would stay in the glove!

Great wrist protector. Have legit saved me several times. Well worth the low cost and are well built. I bought mine on Sep 3, 2022. It's Feb 7, 2025 and the material has finally expired at the edges of the palm support on both of them. After countless cycles of being drenched in sweat, dried, sprayed with Enbac, and then a few trips up to the mountain snowboarding, I'm finally on the search for replacements! For the price, I'm very very likely to just get another pair of these guys.

Exactly what I was looking for. I feel so safe with these on. As a kid, I broke my wrist(s) 3 times, so I’m happy to take a little extra time to put these on before I go riding. There’s a wrist protection bar on the bottom AND top of the wrist. This is essential so that your wrist does not bend. You never know how you’re going to fall, and you never know when you will. I also like the added protection for your phalanges. Your fingers often time get road rash when you fall on your wrist. I like the glove since it helps protect more than other wrist guards you see. You also have your finger tips accessible so you can use your phone while you have these on. Just a great product all around.

Roller Derby noob here, got these on sale because they protect my knuckles and I tend to use my hands to catch falls. Had some hard falls on either wrist, the palm splint got all sorts of scraped up but my hands and wrists are perfectly fine. Though the spare pair the team has is torn between the top and bottom pads, only really securing together with the strap. Be weary after some years or heavy abuse they will tear on the sides, wearing more than other braces would. Still useable and the splints are still intact, but the fabric gets worn fast.

My first pair I had to send back to Amazon due to imperfections in the stitching on the fingers. Each finger should have a double row of stitching at the top. My first pair had fingers that were missing that second row of stitches, presumably due to misalignment of the material during manufacturing. The first pair - sized small, manufactured in 2021 - fit rather tight despite being my correct size according to the size chart. This is my second pair and I’ve worn them on three occasions this week. The stitching and material quality of this second pair is markedly better than the first. This pair is also a size small and manufactured in 2021, but fits perfectly. Unfortunately, the paracord loop near the cuff has already failed on one of the gloves. I really like the level of protection these gloves offer. There’s decent padding in the palm. The wrist plates seem durable and it’s great that they are replaceable. Overall this feels better than every other triple 8 wrist guard I tried, because it fits “like a glove”! I have to leave my review at 3 stars right now due to inconsistencies between items and the current issue with the wrist loop. I will update this review when I can further comment on their durability over time.

Beautiful hand and wrist protection, quality leather strongly put together. Unfortunately I have wide hands that generally X-Large fit, these xl fit like a large would. Returned and ordered the Triple Eight wrist guards same construction looks great there slip on with one fat strap great support protecting wrist of XL Hands.

Iniziamo dai contro: il telecomandino degli skateboard elettrici non lo si può tenere normalmente ma si trova comunque una posizione comoda per usarlo. I pro: tutto, è davvero perfetto e senti che le tue mani (e polsi) sono al sicuro. Volevo prendere i flatland 3d ma non si trovano da nessuna parte, e per fortuna dato che il non trovarli mi ha portato ad acquistare questi. che sono molto meglio.

Bought these gloves for riding my electric unicycle. I bought them as a backup because I love the product so much and they were very competitively priced on Amazon. Slightly tight at first, but now very comfortable, and provides the assurance I need while riding. Amazon delivery excellent as well. Very impressed!!!
