51 ounce model has plastic interior, not stainless steel. Is that true?

To the best of my understanding the liner is stainless steel with a non-stick coating called Polyfon made by Daikin. The coating is supposedly safe and contains no BPA's, unlike Teflon. It is probably applied to prevent the build-up of mineral deposits or stains over time. My thermos is now 3 years old and is as good as the day I bought it. If it cost twice as much as it does it would still be a bargain, in my opinion. Hope this helps.

diameter of spout? .. will a straw fit in the hole?, like with the 32 oz?

A long straw would definitely fit. Spout diameter is ~ 3/8".

Can you purchase replacement parts? The silicone seal has mold that won't come off with bleach.
