How do you know you have used 1000 Liters and have to refresh the filter?

You don’t. Plus this lasted about 10 min when installed i had to get a different type. Poor quality.

I don't know I'm afraid. I bought it to improve the taste of my water, which it does and to remove lime. My kettle and iron gets very little limescale now, so I assume that works. Sorry to be no help
