This about gave me carpel tunnel I thought so I only did a couple cables a night. I thought it was starting to have problems but I was just not tightening the valve enough and when I did that it worked fine. And I would suggest not opening it the full distance. Just lift the handle up about a half inch and compress it and it's much easier. This was about half the price of the crimp tool for hidden cable railing system.

I'd used this for cable railings, the crimper is good, it works well . However the cutters are TRASH, they broke on the 1st attempted cut. I ended up using my power belt hacksaw. The gloves I hadn't used and weren't necessary. Got the job done. I'd recommend ONLY THE CRIMPER

I'm in the two-way radio sales and service I have been installing radios are better than 50 years this is a great tool that makes my job easier adding special connections to hook up to the electrical system is better than what we used to do it makes my work faster and better looking but anybody that working around vehicles big trucks or little this is a great tool we highly recommend it

This is a nice manual hydraulic kit. It comes with several size 'bits', a wire cutter, and a sturdy case. My problem with this, it comes with no helpful instructions. I had to learn to use it, to the point where later after contacting customer service found out that I was using the wrong 'bits' to achieve the crimp force I needed... But that's really not the issue; the issue is that this is NOT a one person tool (it takes 2 people to get quality crimping) and on top of that it caused my hands to crimp and my finger joints to lockup....

I am very happy with this product. It is worked excellent on the installation of my cables and the quality looks like it will last four years.

Based on my experience I can not in good conscience recommend this product to anyone. I bought this kit because it is ostensibly from the same company (CKE) that sells the 1/8" cable and associated hardware that I am using to install cable railings for my deck. The tool is simply not up to the task. The crimping pressure is weak and intermittent. I would get one good crimp and then the overpressure relief would kick in. I'd then need to put the tool down for 5 or more minutes until proper crimping pressure -MAY- be achieved. It compressed the cable sleeves to the proper "crush" sporadically at best. The kit comes with several 'O' rings and a gasket but no instruction on how to disassemble the tools to install them. The "instructions" that are included tell you to add No. 20 "mechanical oil" but there is no diagram showing where or how. The "upgraded" kit includes smaller than average gloves and cable cutters. I did not use either so I can't review them. Unfortunately, when I checked the selection of other hydraulic crimpers it appears that nearly all of them are produced in the same factory but are branded differently so there is no reason to assume they will perform any better. I will be returning this useless tool and respectfully advise you to not waste your money.

I bought these products along with 1/8 " aviation wire and hardware for railing on my back deck. All worked great and project was a success. I had watched Utube videos to get an idea of how to install. I would recommend this to any amatuer such as myself.
