I bought this book as I remember having it as a child but lost it. I loved this book, I remember it keeping me very entertained! There's so much going on in the pictures, amazingly designed and created. I will pass this on to my children when I have them!

A total labour of love by the artist. Hours and hours of fascination

I was given this book as a teenager and enjoyed the paintings and searching out the objects which had been painted into each picture. For anyone not familiar with this book it is an Alphabet book and each letter has been represented by a painting. I to each painting the artist has painted sometimes hundreds (and even well over a thousand in one case) objects beginning with that letter. You can lose yourself for hours and even days in each painting while you identify the objects painted in. The book was originally published with a prize for the person who identified the most painted objects and has been republished with a guide to the objects and answers. This is the original version and well worth buying if you like hidden object type games. I actually have this book as an App on the iPad now but there is still noting quite like sitting down with a cuppa and this book to while away a bit of time...

Pretty much what was expected upon purchase. I spent years trying to find this book, mostly because I forget who it was buy... I got help finding it from people on the internet so this purchase was something the internet helped from start to finish. I wanted this for a reference to art, but you know... One can't resist trying to find every A and B word is they study the pictures... So this makes it a difficult study piece. If your into things like "Where's Wally" (Waldo for you Americans) and want something a bit more "mature" (nudity is present on several pages such as women's breasts, a mans genitals and condom on the letter "c" page) compare to looking for a stripy cartoon guy and his comrades, this is a good step forward. And if you are just curious about the content, its also a interesting buy.

This is such an amazing book. It goes through each letter of the alphabet in amazing drawings, everything in each picture starts with that particular letter of the alphabet. There is also a snail to find in each picture, which the artist put in as a reminder that it was a slow process creating this book. My brother and I used to spend hours looking through this book as children, pointing out all the things we could name. Now as adults with children of our own we both have our own copy and still enjoy looking through ourselves, and showing our children. This book deserves to be on every book shelf. People of all ages will enjoy this book.

My aunt bought this for me about 20 years ago & sadly it was lost during a house move. As my children are now old enough to use it I decided to buy a new one (albeit used). Apart from the fact Royal Mail had semi folded it to post through the letter box it was as new & we have already had lots of fun with A & B. We've not found them all yet & will probably have to "cheat" a little & find the answers somewhere, well, the words we're looking for at least as although very well read, even I have not encountered all of the words to look for & therefore can't know what we're looking for (if that makes sense). Once you know to look for an Armadillo it's a lot easier! (& yes, I do know Armadillo, that was just an example, lol).

This book is the''ultimate'' in widening vocabulary for all ages whilst making it fun. And if you're an art lover like myself, then that is the icing on the cake. I only bought this copy because my original copy was getting worse for wear. I never get bored with this book and I always notice something new, every time.
