I have a fetish for nice socks. Uhhh, let me rephrase that; I have an extremely-high affinity for quality socks. I have purchased many of the top brands such as Smart Wool, Wigwam, Wrightsock, Thorlo, Drymax, premium offerings from Adidas, Asics, Nike, Brooks, New Balance, REI, and many others. Well, Darn Tough is the best. Please don't get me wrong, the others are good to great but overall, if you're serious, want the best-of-the-best, Darn Tough is the one. These Paul Bunyon's are first-rate in terms of comfort and durability, the cushioning is excellent, dry fast and they keep you warm. The one caveat is the pilling. These socks pill so much. I also have a few other Darn Tough socks and they do not pill nearly as much. I have a pill remover and needed to use it each time after the first 3 washes. After that, fortunately, the pilling settles down and you have amazing socks. Finally, I wear a Size: 13.0 shoe, width 2E, according to Darn Tough, I should have gotten XL. Instead, I went with the Large and it fits well. I think the socks run a bit large. If you are Size: 13.5 or larger, go with the XL. The Large is definitely too big for people with Size: 10-11.5 feet.

This brand is always measures upto its name, but this pair got holes on the heels faster than I thought possible. I bought this pair for my husband, and I too have darn toughs that are older than this pair, and mine have no signs of being worn out. Disappointed, since these are expensive socks.

Favorite socks for every day work. I know there crazy expensive but there guaranteed for life so you will never need to buy socks again. There tight at first but loosen a little after the first couple wears. Im 6-5 and a13 shoe size. xl fits good. Could be an inch higher but other than that perfect!

I've always put a high priority on buying well made items that will last me a long time. And if possible I like them to be made in America, while country of origin dose not necessarily corilate to quality of craftsman. There's a certain amount of pride is supporting other people in my country. As someone who can't have socks for more than a couple weeks before they develop holes these have been wonderful and have held up to way more abuse than any pair of socks I've ever owned. The durability alone is reason to look into them but they are also insanely comfortable and soft and they don't bother your feet after a while day of wearing and working in them. They're definitely worth the money and a good choice if your sick of crappy mass manufactured socks.

These are the best socks I've ever owned. They are very warm and comfortable. In addition, I can wear them a whole day snowboarding and sweating, and they won't stink.

I work in the northern yukon. Awesome, so glad I bought these, feel good and reduced the size of my feet trying to stuff into work boots. Bought 4 pairs, plan on more. No blisters

One thing to note is that since these are tough, thick material, they don't stretch as much as you'd expect. You may need to roll them up like a doughnut and then unroll them up your foot and leg, so the foot area isn't all twisted.
