Heavy duty, high quality and adjustable brightness
I ordered these two flashlights because our electricity has been going off lately and also for walks in our neighborhood where we do not have street lights in a rural area. These flashlights are a very solid construction, feel much more expensive than they cost. I’m impressed that they each have their own velcro cases with a sturdy loop for a belt. They are also adjustable in length from a 5 1/2 inch flashlight or extending to a 6 1/4 inch flashlight. Great for hard to reach places. The light output is a cool (almost lavender) colored light that is projecting on my wall from 30 feet away right now. I’ve never seen a flashlight like this before that adjusts the beam from a beam to a wide circle. Very helpful when in total darkness. I’m definitely going to be ordering more of these. They take three AAA batteries, not included. These are truly impressive enough to order as gifts as they don’t feel cheap but solid, heavy and well made. Update months later. Batteries still going strong. These are my favorite flashlights to have on a walk at night. Have one in glove compartment of car. I keep giving mine away and ordering more. On one of our nightly walks with our dog, a new neighbor commented that our flashlight was very bright! So I just gave it to him knowing I had another one at home. He was very appreciative.

Wide and bright, feels a lot more expensive.
We've all purchased the $5 flashlight from your local supermarket, almost always a disappointment, they're never as bright, often cheap and prone to failure. Enter a proper flashlight from Vont, this is not your supermarket budget flashlight. Things I like 1) Quality feel to it, that cold heavy feel of a well made metal torch. The zoom is nice and firm, it doesn't slide on its own, stays fixed on whatever setting you choose. 2) Battery compartment has a container for the batteries, which has an arrow, so you know the direction to put it back into the flashlight. Not that this is an issue since the battery holder has an obvious front and back. 3) Belt pocket, when you're out and about it's nice to have the case on your belt, this one has a loop so it can't fall off, at the cost of it being slightly harder to attach. I like it though, nice strong velcro flap too, so you're not likely to lose the flashlight, no matter what you're doing. 4) It's bright, easily the best flashlight I own, in fact so bright, I don't really need the zoom feature at all, using it mostly on the maximum spread to illuminate everywhere. 5) There's 2 in a pack, if like me, you've got a scout in the family, you're not going to keep the flashlight for long, as all scouts have one in their 10 essentials, and they'll like this, having 2 means there's one for me and one for my boy. Downsides Not really any I can see, if anything it would be nice for it to use 4x AAA batteries, since almost all chargers work on pairs, and typically purchased in multiples of 4, but that's a really minor quible. I don't know how long the batteries last, since my first set are still going strong, but I will report back if anything other than a good life is experienced. All in all another happy customer.

Great Value in a Small Package!
This is a brilliant little flashlight and more than just because it's very bright! Everything from the packaging to the design is really well done. I'm not sure you can find anything of this quality for the money anywhere else. I know immediately that this was going to be a good product, just by the packaging. The box it came in is very rigid cardboard and everything was packed so tightly inside that nothing moved around. Inside the box were two flashlights in their carrying cases and two battery tubes for if you'd like to switch from standard AAA batteries to a single Li-ion battery. The flashlight body feels super solid because it's made entirely of metal. They say they're virtually indestructible and I can see why. The best part was how bright the light is. I took the light outside, after dark, and shined it at our chicken coop, which is about 100' away, and could see everything perfectly. This will be perfect for keeping an eye out for predators after dark. I also love the zoom feature. It's perfect for adjusting to your needs in any situation. Oh, and I guess I lied about the best part being how bright it is because the best part is that you get TWO flashlights for this price! I look forward to many years of use!

Very good for the price
These flashlights are very good for the price. They are certainly not the brightest lights I own, but I got them for my kids to have inexpensive lights that were better quality than those bulk pack led flashlights that can be purchased cheaply. These feel much sturdier than bulk pack flashlights, and the amount of light they put out is passable for the situations my family will be using them for, and great for the amount they cost. (They were on sale for 10 dollars for a 2 pack.) Compared to an old 400 lumen led light that I bought over a decade ago, this puts out a comparable amount of light when sliding the focus to match the circle of light that is output on the wall at the same distance. I do not have a lux meter to take precise measurements though. The light they put out is brighter than the old standard c cell/d cell powered incandescent flashlights we had when I was a kid if that helps. The slide function to focus the beam is interesting, but I prefer the Maglite style screw focus much more. An accidental bump can change a narrow focus to a wide one on these lights very quickly. These lights are reasonably compact. They are 5 and 3/8 inches long when the focus is not extended, and the handle is around an inch in diameter. When the slide is extended they are 6 and 3/16 inches long. They provided no discomfort when holding them. They are somewhat heavy, so a small child may tire if holding one for an extended period of time. Please note that I am using rechargeable 18650 batteries in my flashlights. There may be a difference in brightness between using standard AAA batteries and the batteries I am using, but I have not tested that to find out. In short, these are better than I expected for the price. They certainly won't replace my 1200 lumen light that I bought at a much higher price, but they are good for most, every day type, applications.

Well built metal flashlight that rivals the Blankfire led units
I've been testing it on and off for a few months now. And I have to say it's really well made. If you have bought the Ultrafire or Trustfire or otherfire knockoffs in the past, this is like that but made better and packaged so much more nicely. The box is constructed well. Where the others come in a smashed paper box, Vont uses cardboard and is well structured to withstand pressure. But I believe they ship a large quantity to the US and then send them off to everyone from within, which greatly lowers the damage risk to packaging as opposed to getting one by one from China. The edges are machined very well, no sharp edges like you can get with the others. Even down to the edges in the threads of the battery. It's really a beautiful piece and hopefully they will continue the high quality of the materials used and factory chosen. If you have a TechLite Lumen Master 250 three pack from Costco many years back, it's similar to that, but an inch longer, the head is slightly longer and the TechLite doesn't zoom. Both come with a convenient lanyard, but the Vont doesn't have a sharp nailfile pattern in the body like the TechLite. There is a similar pattern on the bottom third of the unit but more pleasant and not as sharp feeling as the TechLite. It has a "crenelated" edge as is commonly advertised. It just means the business end of the flashlight, the head is crown patterned if it was necessary to use in self defense for striking. It is advertised as a AAA unit and has a plastic insert battery holder for that use, however it also includes a plastic sleeve. Why? Because it's a spacer for use with a 18650 rechargeable li-ion battery. Which is highly recommended not only for environmental but the light output is multiplied at least three if not ten times what the AAA's put out. As an even bigger bonus, a holster is included, and a very hefty one at that! Not like the cheap weak ones they shred after a while like a horse's hair. A quality technical and dare I even say almost tactical flashlight. Yet compact enough to carry without looking like you're police or looking to break in somewhere.

Hidden features would be nice to know about.
I got my new Vont Blaze flashlight two pack and took several pictures while unboxing and testing it out. They look to be very well built and thought out lights. The flashlight has a good weight and feels durable and solid. The only thing that does not feel solid is the battery holder. The case is a nice touch and I like that it can be attached to your belt. To operate the flashlight click the orange button on the back of the flashlight and it turns on at full brightness. Click it again and it turns off. Click it a third time and it comes on at less intensity (50%). Two more clicks and you are at 30%. Two more clicks and the flashlight strobes. Two more clicks to get the flashlight to emit an S.O.S. in Morse Code light pulses. To get back to full intensity click the flashlight two more times. You could also click the light off and count to 10 then click the button again and you are at full brightness. I was told (and have since tried) that if you slightly press the button, the flashlight will change to the next mode without the need for the double click. A full click is needed to turn the light off. The zoom feature is different than I am used to from my experience with Maglite flashlights. On this light you extend the front of the flashlight to go from the wide spot to the narrow focused beam. On this light, the focused beam results in a square projection of light. This is a nice way to quickly change how tight the beam of light is. Overall I am quite pleased with the flashlights, and I am excited to use them the next time I am working in the theater or on my next camping trip. Another thought, don’t throw away the plastic tubes that are on the box. Those are used for a18650 rechargeable Lithion battery that you can purchase and use in the flashlight. It would be nice if there was an insert that mentions this and any other features that are not obvious. Thanks Vont for another well made flashlight.

Little Light; Big Performance.
VONT has never disappointed me with any purchase I’ve made from them. This flashlight is very solidly made and just has an overall sturdy feel with metal construction, rather than plastic components. The intensity of the LED output is amazing and will not only meet, but will exceed expectations for both close-up and distant applications. The size is perfect for storage in the glove compartment or any storage pocket on your vehicle. You get the performance of a bulky 4 D-cell flashlight in a compact stow-and-go size. Plus, it comes with a sharp canvas holster designed to be worn on your belt so you can have it quick at hand for roadside, camping or other situations. All of this comes at a remarkable price point that makes these torches a must-have for your vehicles or toolbox, and would certainly make a gift that any sighted person would appreciate, as well as probably would feel guilty you spent so much on a gift for them, thus putting you in line for a pretty sweet gift for your next birthday or Christmas. It’s a win-win situation.

Really bright flashlight in a small package
I put one of these in my wife's car and another in my truck. The lights are very small, but also very bright. The tightness of the beam is adjustable by sliding the end lens in and out. In the all the way out position, the beam is a small rectangle of very intense light. In the opposing position the beam is quite wide and lights up everything in the vicinity of the operator. I must point out that I was reimbursed from Vont for my purchase, but that did not influence the rating of my review. Knowing what I know now, I would gladly spend the small amount to purchase a couple of these lights if I didn't already have them. 9-19-21 I like these lights so much that I just bought two more of them. I'll keep one in the house and put the other in my tool box. I've found that when I tighten the beam down, the light will light things up almost as well as my sealed beam spotlight. I may buy some more of them later to use as stocking stuffers at Christmas.

Surprisingly good quality for domestic use
Very solid device for the money. Full metal body, nice feeling on / off switch. Handy pouch with belt loop and wrist strap on the torch itself. Doesn't include batteries so factor in that you'll 6x AAA batteries (3 per torch). Oddly, I didn't get instructions but scroll down to the review by B. Theis for a handy guide as I did not know how to get the strobe or SOS to work. Overall this is a great pack to keep one in the car and one in the house. Perfect for late night walks, power outages or emergency use.

Solid flashlight
The build quality of the alloy body is excellent. Feels good in the hand. The press button switch at the rear feels nice and makes it easy to switch between modes (SOS, strobe, low, medium, high). Sliding the front of the torch forward focuses the beam. The wide beam is very even with no hotspots. Comes with a lanyard and carry pouch with belt loop. Battery life with rechargeable has been excellent.
