... turn table allows a couple fingers to quickly and easily rotate a large Brother MFC J6920DW tabloid desktop printer ...
This turn table allows a couple fingers to quickly and easily rotate a large Brother MFC J6920DW tabloid desktop printer weighing 16.7 Kg (36.8 lb) to any point in 360ยฐ for easy access to its various paper feeds, controls, inspection areas and paper jam releases. Without the turn table this printer is frequently a lot of work to use requiring you to stand up, reach out, hold, lift and turn the printer to get minimal access to its many points requiring servicing or inspection. I purchased the large tabloid size paper printer with the intent of building a turn table for it so it could work in a desktop environment of limited space and was starting to put together a specific list of parts and vendors to construct that turn table when I saw the LapWorks turn table intended for large flat screen LCD TV's for a price below what I'd be paying for in parts. I had concerns it was not intended for frequent movements and might intensionally have a fair bit of drag incorporated in it to keep a large flat screen TV from turning in the wind. When the turn table arrived I was glad to see it was free moving using ball bearings in steel races. It was a little small in diameter to reach the feet of the printer, but other supporting points were used and seem to support it in a similar fashion. Overall this has been a real desktop life improver because printing tabloid size printout use to mean having to move a heavy printer back and forth. Now its almost fun to toss the printer back and forth with a couple of finger on the turn table while making large tabloid printouts. The main reason for having a tabloid size 11 x 17 inch (B drawing size) printer is to make large high quality printouts. These are best done using manual single feed straight through paper path that loads from the back. With the turn table it is easy to turn the printer around while sitting and look right at the rear manual paper feed slot, then rotating it back 200ยฐ so the paper output has lots of free space around it for the 1 1/2 foot long paper that is going to be coming out of the machine in few seconds. Without the turn table you end up placing the printer in some cockeyed position where you only have to move it a little bit to load the rear paper feed then turning it so there is some space for the printer push the paper out into, but there is still not enough space for a whole sheet of tabloid size paper to lay flat, so you have to watch it carefully and grab and guide the paper if starts to wedge itself. With the turn table the printer output can easily be rotated to any position so long as there is some place in 360ยฐ of rotation where a tabloid size paper can be pushed out of the printer and not hit anything. Normally I can just aim it where I was sitting while I take a badly needed break and when I come back hopefully there is a crisp 11 by 17 inch print out laying on my chair.

Perfect choice for my bonsai hobby
I bought this lazy susan to use in my new hobby of bonsai. It will hold any sized pot or container in which I chose to plant a small tree / sapling so that I can easily turn the pot while working on the little tree. There is no drag to the bearings and no popping or screeching sounds sometimes associated with ball bearings. There is one poster who complained that the bearing rusted up and pushed the two halves of the unit apart. He even included a photo illustrating his ignorance. SIR, this turn table / lazy susan IS NOT MEANT FOR OUTSIDE USE. When metal begins to rust, the rust forms on the outside surface of the metal, adding to the size of the metal piece. Of course it's going to push the halves of the turn table apart and of course it's going to be ruined, BUT it is YOUR fault. This turn table is an excellent piece of equipment and probably will last for years when used correctly. Just like anyother item. Misuse and abuse it and it will not last. Folks, if you're looking for a strong, durable, smooth acting turn table to be used as the manufacturer designed it for, then this unit is just what you want and at a very fair price.

A well designed, well-made "lazy-susan" base with uses far beyond supporting your TV .
Re: My Amazon order from LapWorks TO: Alan Truly Chief Operating Officer LapWorks, Inc. Dear Alan, The Lapworks 15" Heavy Duty Swivel ("with ball bearings for Indoor/Outdoor Use") is everything I hoped it would be! The attached photo shows the Lazy Susan Table I made using a lightweight, circular, glass-topped aluminum deck table about 22" in diameter. The ceramic mosaic table top is NOT flimsy -- its 26" in diameter and weighs just shy of 40 pounds! It is sitting atop your 15" swivel, which rests upon that circular glass tabletop. The "new table" rests beside my office recliner. Think of an Oreo Cookie -- your terrific 15" Swivel with its ball bearings is the sweet center that allows me to bring my stuff to me: the stuff I'm working with! Pens, felt markers, notepads, clipboard, my coffee cup, a book, etc... you know... the stuff I used to reach for; or get up from my chair to fetch because it was just beyond my reach! The tabletop is 40 pounds, but your swivel easily handles the additional 5 or 10 pounds of load I sometimes add. And, it's a breeze to turn: I literally turn it with my finger tips! Thank you for manufacturing a first-rate product! (I expect I'll be a repeat buyer. I have a couple of other ideas....)

Works Well, but could add another design option!
These items, while made of plastic, are strong and make turning even a very big TV a breeze!! I have the 12" LapWorks underneath my 46" TV and a 10" LapWorks that works with a 42" TV. Also, accessing the rear of TV's is a snap and without bending, moving and lifting or any struggle whatsoever (like I have always done before). When sitting in a room where there can be a lot of viewing angles, moving it to see a better picture is really really easy. We use it for our two TV's 46" and 42" and have another ready to be 'placed' under our 50" TV as soon as our downstairs is ready for a video set up. I would not hesitate to use it with a TV 55" or 60" either. One of the best things about this product is that I can readily rotate the TV when I want to exercise in my home (and have my TV face me while I do so) to listen to music channel or watch something to occupy me while doing some otherwise tedious physical routine. I can turn it back with the touch of a finger in its main viewing position. When I sometimes watch TV while laying on the couch or bed, I can turn the TV so there is no strain for my eyesight or neck whatsoever. Nice! The reason it gets a 4-star, rather 5-star is simply because LapWorks only seems to offer the circular design of this product. Every flat screen TV of any size I have owned over the past several years has a base that is generally rectangular in shape. LapWorks would do well to offer a rectangular version of this item! It would not prevent them from placing the rotating wheel underneath a rectangular platform. Right now, it looks weird to see the round edges sticking out (only a little bit, mind-you) from the rectangular bases I have. I have dark furniture for my TV units; otherwise, I do not know how it would look. I have seen square/rectangular rotating platforms for other consumer products/uses. They do offer a more expensive one for "big screen TVs" but it's more price and the smaller ones are just as good. They really need to make oblong/rectangular swivels in the smaller sizes also. I would not purchase the "big screen TV swivel"; as I think it's simply a marketing (more expensive) gimmick for using about the same amount of raw materials. Yet, if you want the ability to move your TV's with the touch of your finger, and don't want to go through the expense or effort in putting up a wall mounted unit, try this product. It is without any struggle and works.

Spin Around Town But Don't Get Twirled Away!
This thing is huge and can just about support a 17 inch laptop (My current use is for the Asus G750). I absolutely love this stand because it works especially well for displaying purposes and show off rotation moments. The stand is completely sturdy and although made of plastic, has an incredible support mechanism with tiny wheel bearings found underneath. Besides seeing other people use this for television stands and TV devices, this thing can universally be used with whatever you may think works best! Besides using it for show off moments and spinning expensive devices around at ease in a 360 degree manner, I also use this ability for repairing larger electronics. As an electronic hobbyist, I find myself repairing/soldering multiple devices or tech related objects constantly simply because I enjoy it and honestly, who doesn't like to save or make money? The rotation effect greatly assists my work since normally I would work a portion of the electronic board/device, and then have to twist to board or object or even my body to reach the other side. Now with the spinning lap works board, I can stay in one position and simply move the surface the object lies on and get all the hard to reach areas without worrying about movement since the rotation replaces all necessary movements. I highly recommend this board! Very affordable and will greatly help those who repair laptops, electronics, or simply need to rotate an object about 200 pounds in weight in a 360 degree movement with ease.

It works and can accept very heavy items with ease and stability.
So far (one day), works exactly as claimed. Using to set my GE Profile chipped icemaker appliance on. Will now be able to rotate the icemaker in cramped quarters to facilitate cleaning and de-scaling. The icemaker unit is extremely heavy, especially filled with ice and water, and was a REAL pain to clean, hopefully until now. Turns smoothly and the unit remains stable and well balanced.

Great rotating platform but can be improved!
This rotating platform is super useful when repairing heavy electronic equipment - makes it easy to rotate to where access is needed. It would be even more useful if a break is added to it to stop rotating when wanted. Just drill a 1/4" hole and add a pin that goes through, this will hold it in place.

Not super sturdy.
Works okay. The insert doesnโt fit level, so you have to play around with it. The feeding strings are short so you need to use double for the length. But overall not too bad.

IF YOU NEED ONE, LOOK NO FURTHER
I have purchased this lazy susan for working on my bonsai plants. For all those who are looking for a turntable for similar applications, I would like to leave behind the following review: 1. The product is surprisingly slim and can be placed just about anywhere. 2. Build quality is TERRIFIC and the plastic feels nice and strong. 3. I have used it with moderate (1.5 KG) load as well as with heavy (6 to 8 KG) loads and it handles both ends of the spectrum beautifully. 4. I needed a turntable that does not "run away" i.e. offers a discernible resistance to turning (very essential when wiring and/or cutting) and this turntable it PURRFECT!! 5. At the same time, movement, when you want/need it, is smooth. 6.The bottom has tiny pips (I think rubberised) for better grip on the surface it is placed upon while the top surface is patterned sufficiently to hold the pot firmly in place. I have not (yet) separated the two surfaces to inspect the quality of ball bearings for the simple reason that there is no need to do so. However, should rotation be affected (in the future) I am reasonably sure that some light oiling will resolve the issue. Overall, I AM REALLY KICKED ABOUT THIS PRODUCT AND STRONGLY RECOMMEND IT TO ANY BONSAI ENTHUSIAST LOOKING FOR A TURNTABLE THAT IS HANDY FOR INDOOR WORK AND AT THE SAME TIME ROBUST.
