Great light roasting pan !
Due to the low price I had no expectations of this roaster. I discovered that the granite ware pan I have used for 25 years had a perforation and fortunately discovered this before today - Thanksgiving. I ordered this pan in a pinch and got it quickly. This is a very nice pan, especially for the price. Yes, the stainless steel is thin, and the bottom will flex when it is empty, but this pan is much better than I could have imagined. I read the reviews, and decided to give this pan a chance. I am pleasantly surprised. The stainless steel isn't heavy, but I like that. I heavy pan with an heavy turkey would be much harder to manage in and out of the oven. I prefer a lighter pan. The lid fits well and is vented, which is something you don't find with many higher priced roasters.I bought this pan in a pinch, but find that it is a keeper. This pan also looks good enough to go from oven to table for good looking presentation. The handles are also large enough to accommodate oven mitts, so that is great.I cooked an 18.5 pound turkey in this. I fold the wings under the bird, so this method takes up more pan width. If I made a larger turkey, it would fit in this pan, but I would need to clip the wing ends instead of folding them under in order to gain more room in the pan.It cleaned easily and I would recommend this pan, especially for the price and free prime shipping.A roaster doesn't need to be really heavy to be good, and for me lighter is much better.I use my roasting pans for everything, beef tenderloin, turkey, ham, pork loin, so my roaster gets a work out. This pan and lid have a mirror finish so a no scratch cleaning sponge or brush will be needed to maintain the finish. If eventually something sticks, I will use oven cleaner to preserve the shine. I have alot of stainless steel and don't want it to get scratched, so I don't use abrasive cleaners of tools on the surfaces.Since I was pleased with this purchase, I ordered one for my son yesterday.

It is what it is....
I read reviews regarding the product thickness.Obviously some reviewers were expecting "champagne on a beer budget".Suffice it to say that this roaster is quite sufficient to handle any edible you can conceivably roast in it.I needed a roaster to fill a gap, and this one is perfect for what I needed. I can use it for a small to medium roast, and even a large roast or turkey, if I so desire. (I'll use my large roaster for the large items)My first attempt was a 5.5 pound 1/2 pork shoulder, and it turned out very nicely.Next was a 4 pound Boston butt portion, and it turned out nicely, as well.Clean-up was relatively simple. I spray the rack with cooking oil, and line the bottom with aluminum foil, regardless of the roaster I'm using. This roaster is not 'non-stick', but proper preparation will make clean-up easier. The roaster is attractive, and will certainly make a nice presentation.I will be ordering a couple more, to give as gifts.

This is simply fine for the money!
I can't understand the people who complained about this roaster - it's fine! Is it heavy-duty stainless? NO! Of course not, not for that price. But it's definitely not flimsy like some of the reviewers said, don't believe them. The bottom does NOT buckle and it is NOT like foil at all. It's really a good roaster. If you love to cook and don't want to spend a fortune on a name brand, this is just fine. I like it's light weight and I've used it for stove top to oven dishes - sure the $100+ roasters are heavier duty but that means heavier, period. The two swiveling vents on the cover are excellent features and even a lot of the roasters for $100+ don't have those. I agree the rack is too low for some recipes, but what amateur chef doesn't have their own roasting rack? Finally, it looks really nice and if you like to impress your guests with the presentation, this roaster will handle almost anything you need it for. Under $30? Can't beat it.

Great pan for the price
I am trying to get away from aluminium because its toxic when heated so stainless steal is a great option but very expensive for "heavy duty" S.S. This Pan is a very thin, compared to $100 ones but for the price, it's amazing quality. I figure it's a start to healthier cooking. Until I win the lotto. ;)

Would buy again
Okay. lets get real here. This is a cheap stainless steel roaster. It's fairly thin compared to the heavy duty roasters. But honestly it works just as well for most foods. I used this pot for over a year and have nothing bad to say about it. It's sturdy enough for almost anything and cleanup is so easy. I own a 'good' stainless roaster but that thing is so heavy once filled that I hardly use it anymore. I find the gibson a good replacement for the once great granite ware roaster who's new versions have gone totally downhill. Will it last forever? Probably not. But it's cheap enough to replace every few years if needed.

love the features and ease of clean up
really super roaster oven. It big enough for a turkey, but great for pot roast. It has vents on the top which gives you more control over other types. Easy clean up. It comes with rack so you can keep the meat from the bottom, though the bottom does have grooves to channel meat drippings. Light weight, so it's easy to handle.

Get what you pay for
I ordered this thinking, "It's a roasting pan. How can you mess up a basic roasting pan?" Well, now I know:-It's not that it's a bad pan but it's VERY thin. Upon opening it up and looking it over, I realized that the bottom for the pan flexes in the same way that the top of a jelly jar "pops" after it's been opened.-The roasting rack sits a little less than a half inch from the bottom of the pan. (That may work out fine for you, but I need it to sit a little higher to keep my brisket out of the juices.)- The lid doesn't sit very securely. I realize that there will be some "give" with a lid, however, it should at least sit well in the rim of the pan without sliding around. This one slides around... not a ton, but again, more than is suitable for my purposes. I need the lid to fit securely and the vents to close all the way, which brings me to the next point...-The small vents in the top would be a nice feature except that they don't close completely on the one that I received (I may have received a defective one but I'm just reviewing the product I have). Because of this, it will release too much moisture and my meat will dry out.So overall, this roasting pan may be fine if you just need something basic that you don't expect to last forever. I am returning mine and ordering a different one after I do more research.Note: I ordered a Cuisineart brand stainless steel stock pot in the same order as this roasting pan, so in comparison, this roasting pan just seemed cheap and flimsy next to my very sturdy Cuisineart product.

Great for turkey baking
I have used one of these for my turkey baking for a long time. It has lasted for many years. Bought one for my son and at first thought it looked a lot smaller. After taking it out of the box, I realized it is the same size as the one I have. It will hold a LARGE turkey just fine. Bakes evenly, has steam vents in the top. Does the job well and it is stainless steel. Can't beat that.

excellent value for money
it is bigger than I expected and only goes in my (brand new) oven diagonally. I bought specifically because it has a vented lid which helps to 'roast' rather than 'steam' the meat and prevents splashes all over the oven. It does feel a bit flimsy, but I doubt it's going to fall apart, and it is easily going to take the Christmas turkey, leg of pork, or whatever, and I am well pleased. I am well pleased and think it is excellent value for money. shame they do not do one smaller.

very big
I like the size of it. I can now make big roasts with lots of vegetables in one roaster. Before, I needed to take two smaller ones to be able to do what I can with this one. I have not yet tried, but I would think you could cook a big turkey in it.
