Incredible information! This is a must have for all chicken owners. The information is like a reference if you are ever in a situation where you need to know, this has easy to find information about every ailment, every situation, everything about chickens. I love this book and it has helped me in tough situations several times. I highly recommend for anyone with chickens.

This book and this automatic chicken door are my favorite purchases for chickens. The book is superb and very helpful. So nice to have a resource to turn to, when the girls are in need. We recently had a chicken that may have been egg bound or nearly so. Look that up on the internet and you are bombarded with ads on so called chicken sites. What is up with that? I made hundreds of cuts. We bought a lot of items for chickens, coop and all to make it go. The chicken door was in some ways the crowning glory of convenience. Extremely helpful as far as diagnosing chicken diseases. This book is a must have for sure.

Great addition to my library. I’m a vet and purchased a chicken vet textbook that I found to be much less helpful than this book has proven to be. As both the vet to my family’s chickens and also a caring and loving “sister” to them, having medical information in addition to “holistic” (lifestyle, nutrition, enrichment) husbandry information is exactly what I needed to give my hens what they deserve. I also just find it surprisingly entertaining to read, I found myself just reading parts of it on the couch for pleasure instead of consulting it for specific information, so it’s engaging too- I don’t usually just stay entranced by texts such as these. I already recommended it to my enthusiastic chicken-dad-friend from vet school!

Another great book to have if you have chickens! Great information for pretty much anything to do with them! And written by the people that have their own chickens!

This book is a very thorough overview of chicken health problems and pests. It gives lots of helpful tips on how to identify problems and different approaches to solve them. I'm sure it will be a good resource to have on hand. The packaging was kot so great. It was just an Amazon padded envelope. This book is thick and has some weight to it so the flimsy packaging didn't keep the book from getting damaged is shipping.

I have only browsed through this book so far, but it seems really informative and full of useful tips. It's broken down really nicely in sections and has good illustrations. The pages in the book are of a good quality. You can tell the book is well manufactured/printed. It's very easy to look up an issue or problem and be able to reference it fast. The back of the book contains a quick guide to diseases and disorders. There is also a glossary and index to make referencing a breeze. Contents include Keeping Chickens Healthy, Good Nutrition Means Healthy Chickens, The Inner Chicken, Mysteries of Metabolism, What's Bugging Your Birds, When Chickens Get Wormy, Diseases Caused By Protozoa, Conditions Caused by Bacteria, The Fungus Among Us, Deseases Caused by Viruses, Management Issues, Diagnostic Guidelines, What's Going on Inside, Treatments and Therapies, and Your Chickens and Your Health. It's a great all around reference tool, especially when you don't have an avian veterinarian close by.

It has a lot of information about chiken common diseases and describes tips and hints to solve it. Great buy.

This really is the best book on chicken health I have ever come across. I have a few books on chickens and I have found this far and beyond the most helpful book in solving the mystery of what is wrong with one of the flock and how to help her or him. Some books are far too basic, this goes into depth in an understandable way and covers a vast amount and it is easy to find what you're looking for and has diagrams. I highly recommend this book for chicken keepers old and new.

excellent book

I've purchased both Audibles and printed versions. Audibles is great to listen & learn while doing monotonous daily tasks. I've added page tabs to the printed version where I've found the information pertinent to my flocks specific needs.

I've bought a veterinary book with diseases in animals and my complaint was that there are no images or illustrations that would help with diagnosis or common issues. This book has illustrations and images that quickly help to diagnose and fight any health issues chickens might have. It goes from chicks to adult chickens, how to mitigate health issues and what to use (vaccines, medicine etc.) without relying only on local available products (e.g. US/UK books that suggest only local medicine/products). I think this is a good book for both beginners and for experienced chicken handlers, as it serves as a good refresher when chicken health issues arise.
