Stanley Brand is always a good choice...
PRO:1. Works perfect.2. Blade is just the right tooth per inch that I need.3. Portable, and the wood guide plugs things are a nice touch, they work, for how long, who knows.CON:1. Lightweight, unless you mount this to a bench, it's gonna move around on ya.2. The saw comes off them guide rods easy, wish there was a stopper to keep that from happening.3. Not sure where to get a replacement blade some day, but will look when that day comes.OTHER:1. If you can mount it, or clamp in place, do that.2. This is great for small projects, etc. no need for an expensive electric laser guided saw then you're a weekend DIY'er guy.3. Stanley brand is always good.

Great value with some drawbacks
This is a competent miter saw - a definite upgrade from the old plastic unit. The saw is very good and tracks smoothly smoothly. Because of the opening under the blade, there is an issue with tear-out at the end of cuts so a sacrificial support board is recommended. This interferes with the pin-type clamping which I haven't had much luck with anyway.

Stable and Accurate.
For a hand miter saw the assembly is good and stable. Unit works well on a light cut but sticks if pushed too hard. Good for the money.

Adequate not great
You get what you pay for. The idea is excellent but not executed well. For $35(+/-) it’s adequate. One can only cut the angles indented in the platter. Custom angles are not possible. Cut accuracy is very dependent on the users finesse with a saw. Good luck. Good for the hobbyist. Pro’s don’t even think about it.

Product delivered as described and promptly. Works well for my purposes.
Product delivered much sooner than expected. Arrived with all parts. Easy to put together and works well for my purposes. Will be purchasing a finer toothed blade for some of my more precision work.

Not a good tool. Would work, if it was better made.
Do yourself a favor and skip this product. I had a similar product in the past, and sold it when I moved. Thought 'I'm just gonna buy another one when I need it'. Turns out it's not that easy. Stanley is a good brand, but on this one they didn't do the proper testing. The main issue are the four rods to hold the saw in place. They are held by one screw and a square nut. These come loose EVERY SINGLE TIME I use this saw. I tried thread locker, better bolts, a different nut, but it's just too weak to withstand the movement on the rods. I remember on my old saw these rods where threaded and directly screwed into the base. The thing is: Quality isn't an issue. It's just not well thought through. The problem: With the slightest movement you will loose precision. If one rod starts to wiggle while sawing, you will end up witht a slight curve in your cut.

Guide rod keepers come loose and fall out
I did not but this from Amazon but do own one. I actually came o lm Amazon looking for parts... I agree with the first reviewer that the blocks and Allen screws that hold the guide pins in place always come loose and and fall out. I recommend looking for a better one with rods that screw in.

Great purchase for home and school
This is a well made tool. I purchased two for my middle school classroom and they are holding up to regular use. It is much easier for my students to use than the plastic miter box. After seeing it at my school, my dad mentioned he would like one. Now the third purchase is for his Christmas gift!
