Is this fabric absorbent? I would like to make bibs for a very drooly toddler.

Do I need to wash before using?

It is always wise to wash before using if the fabric shrinks when washed.

Do I need to Wash this fabric before sewing?

It is generally not recommended to wash precuts but with strong red colors you may want to place them in hot water and see if there is any bleeding. Dry flat on a towel then iron. Repeat if there is bleeding till water stays clear. Most quality fabrics don’t have a problem but good to check, red in particular. Quilts can always be washed with a color catcher in the future
