Awesome idea
This truly is an awesome idea. The fan works great and I love how there is a reservoir of water to truly cool down on hot days.Only issue i have is one of the batteries refuses to go further down in the device (see pic)- which is really unfortunate as this is otherwise a truly awesome little fan. I’ll be using it on public transport once I figure out a way to keep the latch down the covers the batteries

Work with continued use
I bought two of these for our trip to Disney. Baby was 7 months old for the trip and I was worried about keeping her cool. We’ve continued to use one throughout the summer mostly because she thinks they’re funny and loves being spritzed. But the one we haven’t used as much no longer works. Tried multiple sets of new batteries and still nothing. Glad we have one that works still but just know if you want to use it, store it, and have it for another trip: probably won’t work.

Okay fan, better options are out there
Poor water spraying application after a while like others, didn’t live up to the price point

Leaky cap, poor design
When my daughter first started using this misting fan at camp, we were optimistic it would help keep her cool on hot days. The first week or so it performed adequately. Nothing to write home about -- the fan is not powerful -- but for the price it was acceptable. One afternoon a couple of weeks later my daughter came home with a soaking wet backpack. It didn't take long to figure out the source of the water was the misting fan she was transporting inside. My first thought was that the fan's cap had been screwed on incorrectly, but further investigation determined that the problem was the design of the cap itself, which is inherently leaky due to its cheap design (see photo). The cap on this fan uses the same principle to prevent leaks as a shampoo bottle. It has a simple coated paper disk that, in theory, should form a seal when pressed down on by the threaded body of the fan. In our case, this seal allows a slow leak when the fan sits on its base, causing water to fill up inside the threads. I've tried repositioning that seal in a number of ways to try to get a better result, but it seems that in our case it's just not going to work. This is the only unit we've used, so I can't speak to how frequently this problem occurs. However, I've seen other reviews complain about leaking as well, so I don't think it's a one-off manufacturing defect.Bottom line: I would avoid this bulky, leaky fan. It's not designed well, and there are many better options out there. I suppose if you're using the fan in an environment where leaking isn't a concern it could still be useful, hence the 2-star rating.Pros: Inexpensive, reasonably effective at misting, attractive colorCons: Leaks from cap, weak airflow rate, inconveniently large
