2006 Jeep Commander Clunking Sound.
Have had these for over a year now. They have held up great. It did raise the ride height minimally it is barely noticeable. I installed myself but not for the novice mechanic. Jeep rode much better after and no more "clunking" when you hit a bump. I ended up doing a full rebuild on the front suspension a little later. Car drives like it did when it was new now. Well worth the money spent.

Buy these struts
Bought 171377L & R for my 2006 jeep grand cherokee limited 4.7 4wd with 150k miles and it gave my front end a major facelift, the install wouldve been easy if it werent for some super sized bolts that had been in place for 13 years lol, after the install my jeep was raised 3 inches higher than it was with the stock struts and springs. After the springs settled it is still 1 inch higher than it was and feels so much better to drive on. No more bouncing all over the place from my front end, Jeep handles like new now and no more creaking noises from struts and springs. I recommend replacing your upper control arms while you're at it just so it's all new under there, that is gonna be my next job. Very happy with this purchase.

Quality replacement
Overall these are a good budget replacement. However be aware that the shock/strut assy is quick to install, the disassembly of other components may cause you some issues like the removal of the lower control arm bolt because it could be stuck in the bushing. I would highly recommend bringing this into a shop to replace to save you the hassle. This part does make a difference and will return your ride height and alleviate the issue of bouncing all over the place when you go over bumps. However I did notice that they are not as stiff as the original o.e.m. parts and have a slight bounce. For the price I would recommend.

Worked great
Worked great for my 2007 jeep grand cherokee. I recommend changing your upper and lower ball joints and bushings at the same time. If your struts are bad, the joints have been working overtime and should be replaced. Also the lower strut arm (clevis arm) bolt is notorious for freezing in the bushing on this model of cherokee. Test the bolt before buying and replacing the struts. If the bolt is frozen, buy a new bolt along with bushings on Amazon. In most cases the bolt has to be cut out. The old tried and true heat and beat works sometimes but you will still need to replace the bushing. If you don't have a press to change the ball joints and bushings you can rent one from an auto parts store or take the easy route and just buy new control arms with ball joints and bushings already installed. Little more expensive but saves time and headaches. Remember to get an alignment immediately after installing.

uplifted!!
while it doesn’t lift, it definitely picked up the sagging from the old worn shocks! sits higher again and im no longer afraid of speed bumps

Trash, don't buy
The worst purchase I've made! They are too hard for the road and even so if you lift the Jeep with a jack they stretch and the road gets harder what it does is bounce suddenly

These shocks bottom out on mild bumps.
Too bouncy, unstable on highway. Oem coil is thicker and far superior.

A bit noisy
All good except the squeaking on large road bumps usually found in parking lots.

Don’t buy if you own a Jeep struts bottomed out on the first ride on the gravel road
Ride is soft on pavement but Sucks if you hit a bump on the gravel road it bottoms out really easy had them on a 08 Jeep grande Cherokee 3.0L diesel which they were made for apparently but took them off after a week pretty unhappy as my stock struts rode way better then this garbage
