Great sound, a little dorky but who cares!
Easy peasy. Set up was just bluetooth connection to my phone, took about 10 seconds. Long lasting battery, really simple operation. Good crisp balanced sound quality. Great alternative for ear buds, I'm a bike rider and this allows me to hear what's going on around me especially with all the stealthy electric cars that sneak up on you. Being that it's around your neck you do end up sharing you playlists with anybody near. Lightweight, compact, well made. quick charge.

No More Ear Pain
Excellent product, I detest any thing in my ears, none fit they are always to big and to uncomfortable, I have tried ear buds and head phones, this neck Bluetooth is awesome, the weight takes some getting used too, but it’s well worth it. I haven’t tried wearing them in bed yet, but I will one day. Easy to use and charge. The cost is well worth the convenience, and sound is great. So if you are looking for a a perfect fit you are in the right place . Thank you

Great sound
Let's start by clearing up a few misconceptions. These speakers do not somehow magically create a "bubble" around you where only you can hear the music. On the contrary, others can hear the speakers, and you can hear other sounds. (In fact, other sounds, if loud enough, can completely drown out the speakers' output; automobile traffic, when you're walking along a street, is a good example.) Thus you probably won't use this thing outdoors, in public, or in an office, or any sort of shared space. So what is it good for? It's good for absolutely terrific sound, beautifully presented to your ears. There is something about the positioning of the speakers, in the neckbone area, that constructs a superb stereo "stage", making the sound brilliantly clear and three-dimensional. I don't think there is any "bone conduction" going on here (though you certainly might feel some vibration of the speakers through your bones); the sound is coming into your ears. But it's coming in with sparkling clarity and ease. Without anything inserted into the ears (earbuds) or covering the ears (earphones), you "just hear" the sound, vividly and easily. I use this device with my iPad for watching movies and with my iPhone for listening to classical music, and it is just terrific. The button controls are okay; after a while you get used to them. The order of the buttons is a bit odd — pairing, on/off, volume down, volume up — why isn't on/off first? But you soon internalize it. Pairing is very easy; typically the most recently used sound source and the speakers "remember" one another, and to switch sources you just hold down the pairing button until the voice says "Discovering" and then pick out the speakers in the Bluetooth panel on your sound source. The voice that greets you on startup, shutdown, Bluetooth discovering, and Bluetooth connection, is way too loud, as other reviews have rightly pointed out. The charging port is atrocious, difficult to access, buried very deep in a restricted cavity. Many of my charging cords can't get in there at all. The device does not announce its charge level on startup, which is a major flaw.

Great sound! Nice and loud and gives a good experience.
I'm using this to connect to my tv in the evening when I want to listen to tv without using the regular speakers and need it to be a bit quieter so I can hear my elderly father who's in the living room area. My mom currently has a BOSE wearable sound bar that goes around the neck that is three times as expensive, so for this review I'll compare the two. The one thing that stood out is that this neck band connected to the tv easily and was way louder than the BOSE band. Read the directions as you have to hold the button for a certain amount of time and it prompts you and tells you the blue tooth is on. I think just went to the tv settings and had it search for speakers and just click to pair and we were good to go. My mom's speaker just wouldn't go up very loud [BOSE]. This one, the Monster, I discovered let me control the volume through the remote, and it definitely was louder. I got confused as I was wondering why the buttons on the side of the speaker weren't working when I discovered my smart tv remote would control the volume which is WAY easier anyway. My BOSE had the same function - but it would only play super low which was annoying. That was a serious pet peeve of mine with my mom's speaker which I bought her a year ago. The new Monster speaker was the opposite and was loud. I actually had to lower the volume a little. The BOSE version which is more expensive wouldn't go up high enough! The best part is the sound quality. It's amazingly clear on voices and the special affects are just like WOW! My mom asked me to order her one for her main bedroom and I suspect will find herself using this one more. I think this is a better band. The only item I found a little off putting is that it's not that soft on the neck. My mom said it was fine, but my skin is sensitive. Silicone sometimes bothers me so I'll probably just put a cloth on top of my neck and lay this on top. That's the one area I think Monster needs to work on. My mom likes it better because she prefers the thin part behind her neck when she's laying in her bed watching tv [she has one of those adjustable ones]. Other than that, it's worth the money. FYI - This is not a tinny sound. It's literally like surround sound. You hear the noises going back and forth and wow...I was just so impressed. If you're looking for a wearable band that is affordable, this won't disappoint. I'm honestly surprised as heck that they are selling it for this price. If they flooded the market, these guys would win. I'm so glad I decided to try this one. I'm currently connected to a Samsung Smart tv.

Nicely Does What It Needs to Do
Ok, it is inevitable to compare this to the Bose Soundwear (which is evidently discontinued), so I start there. Is it really fair to compare a product to another when one is about 3-4 times as expensive? The only fair way to do it is to compare "dollar for dollar," I believe. In that regards I think the Boomerang is really good, maybe even better than the Soundwear. Obviously if you put them next to each other and ask an audiophile to compare the sound, Bose wins. But this thing is on your neck and you likely are not wearing it to listen to symphonies, so how crisp and clear do you need the sound to be? The volume can get loud--leaving it on the counter and turning it up, you can easily hear it across the room. But again, this is on your neck. How loud do you intend to turn it? So, with that said, I really like the Monster Boomerangs. I wear them when I go hiking and don't want to have earbuds to completely block the noise, while I also don't want to disturb other hikers too much. Having these on my neck at a comfortable volume allows me to hear the surrounding while listening to music. Other hikers can probably hear my music when near me, but as soon as we pass each other, we are in our own worlds again. The battery life is quite good. I have used them for around 10 hours on different hikes and still have some juice left, according to my iPhone's battery meter. Pairing them with the iPhone for the first time was easy, and subsequently every time I turn them on, it quickly connects to the iPhone automatically. Not a problem at all. There are only four buttons, which to be honest I have not used other than the power on/off button, as I rely on my Apple Watch or iPhone for controlling the volume and call answer/hang up. I have received/made calls and the call quality was good on my side and I never heard any complaints about the call quality from the other side. Of course everyone can easily hear your conversations, so there is that. The only thing I wish was different (and in that case the Bose Soundwear does it right) is that these do not sit flushed on your neck/body as the Soundwear does. These rest on the back of your neck and there is a gap in front between them and your body. Nothing too disturbing, and perhaps it even helps with sweat not getting on them, but I alway know they are around my neck for that reason, even when off, whereas with the Soundwear, it is easy to forget they are there. This is not worth paying so much more for the Bose, so after trying them both, I opted for The Masters, and I am quite happy with the decision.

Could have been great only if,
I have to use earbuds a lot for both my full-time and part-time work. Sometimes I had to use earbuds right after a shower while my ears were not fully dry. Maybe because of that, I started to have some infections or ear ringing, possibly tinnitus. My doctor told me to reduce the use of earbuds or completely cut them off for a while, but I couldn’t because I needed them. So, I started to look for open-ear styles and came across these around-the-neck styles as well. After using this one for around two years, I’m sharing what I think about it for people who are searching for these types like I did. Pros: - I don’t have to worry about the ear canal thing anymore. This works perfectly as expected since I don’t have to put anything into my ear or have it sit on my ear. - The price is literally a fraction of the competition like Sony or Bose. This is a big factor for me. In my experience, the lifespan of Bluetooth earbuds is not that long because of battery degradation, and I don’t want to pay hundreds for these but rather pay something less than $100 and buy new ones every 3-4 years. - This sounds surprisingly good. The spatial 3-D sound works well due to its design. It’s like a combination of the good qualities of earbuds and headphones while still allowing you to be aware of your surroundings. Cons: - Battery life is really disappointing. The description says it can last 12 hours at 50% volume, but I barely get 7-8 hours at minimal volume. I use this in a very quiet environment and have to use it at the lowest volume possible. Even with that volume, I have to recharge it every day, and I hate that. - Because it’s not very energy efficient, it turns off after some idle time. Then, I have to turn it on and reconnect it. So annoying. - It doesn’t remember the last settings, so every time it’s turned on (with a super loud opening sound as someone mentioned here), you need to adjust the volume and settings again to your preference. - It’s much louder than usual open-ear style earbuds due to its design, so you don’t really want to use this in public settings as people around you can easily hear what you are listening to. Overall: - This will be the best if you use it for watching movies or listening to music while walking around home. (But, keep it playing whatever you do; otherwise, it will turn off with a loud ‘Goodbye!’) This type of earbuds may seem to cater to very niche users, but they actually have great potential if they could fix some issues stated above (especially battery life) for the next generation, especially with the recent popularity of open-ear style earbuds.

Falls short in usability
Pros: Sound quality (but caveats below) Cons: Usability The sound quality is hit or miss depending on the type of music or content you're listening to. Because it's worn around the neck, it doesn't have to be anywhere as loud as speakers places away from your body, and there's good stereo separation and a nice soundstage. But the sub-bass response is mostly disappointing. There's no low cut filter, so the speaker tries to play sub-bass notes, but fails. The sloppy diaphragm movement ends up being felt through the speaker enclosure resting on your neck as vibrations, rather than heard as sound. The result is clipped bass. Proper speakers or headphones (even earbuds) have better bass response, and if sound reproduction is your goal, don't buy this. It's mostly mid-bass to mids heavy, which is fine for vocals and speech, "chamber music" and some orchestral pieces. I'm astonished how short the Bluetooth range is. About 20 ft through dry wall is about the limit. The Bluetooth range is by far the worst I've seen. You have to be in the same room as your device. The neckband has a soft-touch flexible material (TPU) in the back that's uncomfortable against the skin after a while. I've seen another review mention it, and I can confirm it prevents the skin from breathing, and after 20 minutes or so, it starts to feel "warm" and you want to take it off. It would be better if it were covered in a breathable cloth mesh, rather than soft TPU, which will probably start to disintegrate into a sticky, tacky mess after several years. I can't stress how much I hate that product manufacturers keep using this material knowing that it will degrade someday. Another annoyance is that the speaker's controls are the "press an hold" variety that are all the rage. The TPU-coated buttons are stiff and don't provide good tactile feedback. You have to press down with some force. In particular, I dislike long press used to turn it on or off. Sometimes it doesn't register after 5 seconds and you have to press harder. The headphones also don't remember the last volume setting when you turn it on; it always resets itself to about 65% loudness, and it also refuses to accept volume adjustments from your music device for several seconds after connecting, so you're going to hear music too loud before you can adjust it. Other annoyances are the voice announcements like "Discovering! Your device is connected! Goodbye!" That gets old fast. I want conventional chimes, beeps, or tones. Overall, this is arguably the best (and one of the more expensive) of the "neck band speakers" and it's still terrible. Sound quality aside, it's just an unrefined product designed by Monster. I cannot recommend it.

Most reliable monster boomerang
I bought this boomerang neck Bluetooth speaker back in 2020 to use while roller skating, and it’s been with me ever since. I’ve dropped it more times than I can count, yet it’s still solid and fully functional — which says a lot about the build quality. It charges up in about 30 minutes and gives me hours of use without needing another charge. The only real sign of age is some wear and tear, with the outer fabric starting to come away slightly — but after 5 and a half years, that’s more than fair. Honestly, I couldn’t resist coming back to leave a review. It’s been that reliable.

Love the sound and the convenience of having a boombox on my neck
It is a pretty nice color speaker... the sound is reach and LOUD (from the wearer's perspective) and there is good bass that makes your collar bones vibrate... literally! Music is great, and conversations are as well. I often use it for meetings and people say they can hear me loud and clear, albeit I sound a bit far. The microphone is good at isolating my voice in a relatively quite home environment, but not so good in a street or busy cafe, fo example. Note about using it in a public place: people can easily hear your music/convo and could get pretty annoyed by it if they are sitting right next to you. But in a Starbucks setting, where people are at many feet away, nobody seemed to notice my music running at about 40% volume, It was soothing. 3 things I don't like about it: - Battery life is not as long as I hoped it would be, given the size of the thing. (sure, blasting the volume ona speaker requires a lot more energy than through an earbud...) - Controls are a bit hard to locate by touch as they are not pronounced enough, especially when someone comes over and start speaking to you while your frantically trying to find the pause button. - The power switch does act up every now and then, and it would refuse to power on the device... I have to try 2-3 times before it decides to turn on. So, in conclusion, I love it, the wife loves it, and when the "mini" version goes on sale, we'll be getting another one.
