The lids are aluminum, with silicone seals and plastic airlocks.

Are these dishwasher safe?

I haven't used mine yet. I did just look at the instructions (Not very detailed I might add) and there are no care instructions included. The lids are like canning lid metal and the airlocks are like a medicine bottle type of plastic. When I finally do use them I will hand wash.
