I love boardwalk empire I think it was a really cool DVD I know it's not accurate but it's Hollywood

Excellent production that surpasses what I what l remember of the show as originally shown. I am glad I purchased this edition!

The only reason I gave this 5 stars is because it is a great series to watch. However, I am not the only consumer to have purchased a box set with damaged dvds. Disk 1 of season 1 did not play at all. The rest of season 1 disks played, but they skipped throughout my viewing. All of season 2 dvds skipped through out. All season 3 dvds were good but the last one which also skipped around. Season 4 disk 1 skipped trough out. Disk 2 was good. Disk 3 skipped around. Disk 4 would not play at all. I couldn’t believe it!!! All of season 5 was perfect. No skipping.

This is a review of the product, not the program (which I loved). Date of review 05/13/19. BOARDWALK EMPIRE on DVD. The entire broadcast consists of full color 56 episodes on 19 DVD discs. It includes over 4 hours of extras including a 58 minute extra bonus DVD. The Bonus DVD explains how much blue screen editing was done during the 5 season run. Example: A full scale boardwalk was built from original plans and photos of a portion of the original boardwalk. It was 4 stories high and 300 yards long. (In NYC) Blue Screen editing was done on many episodes showing the ocean. One explosion scene was shot with blue screen editing, then layered 26 layers deep before the actual explosion destroyed the set. DVD’s are high quality. Each DVD is broken down into 3-4 episodes, with PLAY ALL or Play individual episodes. PLAY ALL skips all the fluff. Playing one at a time offered a brief summary, editors commentary play or the episode uninterrupted. There is a 58 minute producers DVD worth watching with behind the scenes information (such as how the actor was notified he was dying in the future). With 5 seasons there are 5 plastic book-like DVD packages which are sturdy. Those are contained in a nice carboard box display. That is further enclosed in another open top/bottom cardboard box. A 6x8 carboard summary card is included. I’m giving the quality 5 stars. I enjoyed the show as well

I only got to the first disc and I'm on episode 3 and every single episode has skipped and hung up while I was watching it. I miss most of the storyline because of the skips. You guys give 30 days to return and expect me to watch 20 discs in 30 days to see if they all skip as bad as this one. I'm very dissatisfied with Amazon for allowing product like this to go out to your customers. I have bought a lot of things from Amazon and the last two things I received from an outside company of yours has been wrong or defected. If you do not start monitoring your secondary sellers I will no longer buy from Amazon which I've spent thousands. I'd give you a zero in the ratings if it was a possibility. I'm not going to return this because it puts me out to have to do that I think you should refund me or research this company who sold this on your behalf.! I also bought another DVD set of Game of Thrones which has 60 discs which there is no way I can watch in a month so I'm hoping there's no defects in that one but if there is that will be the last item I ever buy from Amazon. If you really care about your customers you will handle this and not leave it on me. Update 7 disc dont work and the last episode of season five is missing. DO NOT BUY FROM THIS COMPANY

I missed this show when it was originally telecast. I got it because I am interested in history in general, and the 1920s in particular. Everything works! The staging, costumes and sets, as well as the cars and music are 100% authentic. The development of organized crime in this country is particularly well depicted, from the suave Arnold Rothstein to Luciano and Lansky. One thing I really liked was the development of the characters of Lansky and Luciano from young and brash to older, colder and more lethal. Acting is so good that it is easy to forget that this is a fictionalized version of history However, this is not for the sensitive or squeamish: the violence is graphic and so is the sex. These things don't trouble me, because they are part of human nature and part of the "Roaring Twenties". Disc quality is perfect; sound is crisp and clear. Perfect for binge watching. I suspect a second watching is in the near future, because it is that good!

Just purchased and watched this series for the first time recently. Storyline, actors, characters have made this a nonstop series for me to watch. Wish I had picked it up sooner, very entertaining. Came with digital copy I used on vudu and itunes. The link on hbo didn't work so I looked up online how to directly enter the code in on itunes to redeem. The ending however, as much as it may seem a good ending, isn't really convincing and leaves a void but the series despite that Is still worth watching.

We are so happy with this purchase. Have been wanting to buy the series for quite some time but price was quite high - but now with the great sale price we finally have it for our collection. This is an exceptionally well produced series - the set designs and attention to period (era) detail of Prohibition Time in Atlantic City is outstanding. The story line grabs your attention and keeps you wanting more with each episode. Steve Buscemi does a fantastic job portraying the ruthlessly corrupt Atlantic County City Treasure Nucky Thompson, who carries enormous political clout and has his illegal fingers in everyone's pockets. And when they don't play the way Nucky wants - well let's just say he has his way of convincing them otherwise. Highly recommend this series. Well worth the price - on sale or not.

Llegó bien. La caja es de cartón duro y es chula. Trae muchos idiomas incluido el castellano. También trae subtitulos en inglés. Yo la compré nueva por la mitad de precio y merece mucho la pena. La que compré yo era solo Blu-ray (sin copia digital) y me costó 82 euros más envío.

A terrific set of DVD's that give you a real inside look at the corruption in government in the 1920's New Jersey, New York, but especially the Atlantic City Boardwalk locale. Great acting by some top notch actors here and I doubt that anyone would be disappointed in this fabulous series.
