Gotoh Floyd Rose Locking Trem GE-1996T, 40mm block (Chrome)

I replaced a knockoff Floyd Rose style tremolo on a brand new chinese-made EVH replica guitar with this Gotoh trem. It fit perfectly and works great. I left the original tremolo posts in place rather than swapping them out. Trem is very smooth and stays in tune very well. I did need to add some tremolo saddle shims to match the fretboard radius properly. I would definitely buy it again.

I've owned several Gotoh license Floyd Rose and I prefer them to the originals built very well and there is no play or wiggle on the tremelo bar which is crucially important if you please to use the dive-bar! Bar locks in place so it won't fall out or pull out when you are pulling up on the bar... worth every penny!

In general was ok but I would prefer it would come with the 33mms block, NOT with only the 40mms block... I had to buy the 33mms block separated

I installed this in a MIM Fender Player Stratocaster replacing the FR Special. For me it feels and responds better than the FR.

I install these as a business and I must say, these are the best made Floyd rose like the Tremolos for the money… Extra large posts which also have custom screw locks to stop them from chattering and moving… Harden Ed steel edges like no other tremolo… You get what you pay for :)
