If you’re not sure about any product, just assume it’s made in China unless it says ‘Made in the U.K.’ as EVERY product made in the U.K. will prominently advertise the fact. If they only say ‘inspired by Britain’, British design’ or ‘British company’ it’s because they want you to think it’s made in the U.K.

Is it plastic free inside? I mean does any plastic come in contact with water?

How much plastic is in this kettle apart from the water guage?

The base and electrics cover as well as the water level gauge and filter, black knob and handle is what I would call a plastic composition. the body, lid and handle supports are all metal with what seams to be a good powder coat paint finish. We find it works very well is easy to fill has an easy to read water gauge. Looks good as well. Hope this helps.

How long is the cable from plug to base?

The cable is a fairly generous 0.8 metres......or just over 31 inches in old money. If not long enough, you could use an extension.
