4.5 stars!!! Fantastic conclusion to this unforgettable series
Hush (Black Lotus #3) by EK Blair4.5 stars!!!“It’s love, darling…it takes everyone hostage.”EK Blair has given me a lot of firsts in her career and Hush has just given me another one, however, what that first was will have to remain a secret else it would be a huge spoiler. But that is everything that encompasses this series, a lot of firsts. EK Blair is not afraid to push boundaries, push your boundaries and while Hush has a very different feel to it than Bang and Echo, EK Blair’s blood and trademarks run through every page and truly bring this book to life and unfortunately this series to an end. The Black Lotus series is one of my all-time favourites, these characters have embedded themselves into my heart and soul and to say goodbye to them was extremely hard. This has been a far cry from a traditional romance but none the less, the ultimate end goal was always Elizabeth’s happiness and the question on everyone’s tongue is…does she get it?“He’s the creation of my monstrosity, forever changed as a result of my demented soul. He fell in love with the devil when he fell in love with me.”Hush was definitely the rebirth of Elizabeth Rose Archer, this book centres around Elizabeth finding herself and trying to forget Nina once and for all. With everything she has been through though this was never going to be an easy task. All Elizabeth’s vulnerabilities and insecurities are tackled and it was fantastic to see “the real” side to our tough Nina. She has never worn her heart on her sleeve and has never really let anyone in and to see her open up, raw, emotional and vulnerable made this story all the more realistic. It was gritty, it was believable and it only makes you understand and relate to Elizabeth all the more.“Tears paint my face in a piece of art that embodies a love so powerful it can only be ours. It’s ugly and beautiful and painful, but it’s ours. We are monsters and lovers, animals and killers, but nothing can extinguish what we have when we’re together.”The end of Elizabeth’s story was always going to be hard, for a child that had been deprived of her childhood, had been let down by the authorities and abused physically and mentally by those that should have saved her, Elizabeth really does have a mountain climb. Trust is always going to be an issue and it is really this and her tenuous links to her past that really hold her back. But our Elizabeth proves what a fighter she is and really tries to pull herself back. She needs to find herself, find Elizabeth Rose Archer, she has been pretending for so long she has no idea who and what she truly is and the last time she was really herself she was five years old.The other characters that are featured within Hush are also shown in a different light, the strong and fearless are shown weak and exposed, the dislikeable become likeable and EK Blair managed to turn a lot of my thoughts, feelings and preconceptions well and truly on their head. When there are three men in the mix initially you always pick a team, a side that you want to win and a man that you want to champion, the trouble with this series was you never really knew who was dead or alive at any one moment. EK Blair has been a wicked puppet master with my emotions throughout this series and while you get a little reprieve with Hush she still manages to get you, she lures you into a false sense of security and then pulls the trigger. Bang…she got me…hear the Echo…Hush it’s oh so quiet.“As much as you need him, I need you more.”This is one series I will never forget and as much as I would love to go on and on, I really can’t, I hate spoilers and this book needs to be read as the author intended. Feel it all, experience it all and live it all. EK Blair, I have to salute you for staying true to the story and the characters. This couldn’t have been an easy book or series to write and as hard as it was to read, every palpitation, every tear, ever OMG moment will be well and truly savoured. Not many authors can keep you on the edge of your seat for three books and you pulled it off in style in all its eloquent, intoxicating, gripping, addictive, stomach churning, soul crushing glory. For those that want to push themselves, this is one series I can highly recommend.“I knew in that moment that I would never be unloved, I would never be abandoned, and I would never be left to fight the monsters alone.”

Shocking, twisted and crazy wild ride.
I want to start by saying overall this series was 5+ stars for me. It captivated me from the start. I counted down the days for each release and devoured all three books. The characters twisted their way into my heart and soul. I felt for them, cried for them, felt my heart break for them. It was a series with so many feels, I would not even know know where to begin. Dark, twisted and loved every minute of it.Now the final book, this final book broke my heart to pieces. I feel like I went to hell and back with these characters. Yes, they did some very despicable things, but despicable things were done to them as well and they were just trying to cope and survive. In Hush, we pick up right where we left off. Elizabeth is shocked beyond belief and hurt, probably more than she ever had been. Together Declan and Elizabeth set out to discover all the truths they need. They want some answers.Slowly Elizabeth and Declan begin to move forward. Declan is still trying to come to terms with what Elizabeth made him do and the person he became because of it. Elizabeth is trying to figure out who she is and who she could be, while trying to hold on to the one person she has always loved.Declan and Elizabeth face challenges, dangers and unexpected paths at every turn. But they also learn that together, they can face anything. Its hard to talk about the book itself without giving spoilers. This is the type of story you need to experience on your own with all its twists and turns. But I can say this book, and the entire series, is so worth the crazy ride it takes you on.I will say that the ending was truly unexpected for me. I did not see it coming at all, and it shocked me. So much that I had to wait a while to do my review, but I thought long and hard about it and realized the author gave us the story she needed too and from her heart. I loved this story and all its dark twists and turns and though at times the main characters were truly despicable, I came to care about them very much. It takes quite an writer to accomplish that.So though this story will break your heart, the ride is amazing and will captivate you, so it is a must read recommendation from me.Happy reading!

Could have been so perfect
I read a few reviews and was umming and aahing about whether to read this book. I'd been waiting for it but for some reason, I had trepidation after hearing the ending sucks. The thing that put me off downloading this was the prospect of having my soul spat out again – and for the end to suck, too. Still, I felt the need for completition so I took a deep breath and dove in.I loved how Elizabeth and Declan were beginning to work through all their issues. Yes there were lots of tears from her and rightly so – after all she's been through a sh*t ton so of course, there was a lot to take stock of. When she asks him to love her tenderly, that whole scene was just what the doctor ordered and perfectly placed. Some parts of this story demonstrated how intuitive a writer Blair is when it comes to psychological trials."With tangled legs, bleeding hearts, and tethered souls, we claw each other throughout the night–desperate for unsurpassable symbiosis"The words flowed so nicely throughout most of this novel until a literary term would get thrown into the mix and I'd be looking it up, my reading stumped. It felt like EK wasn’t writing this for a wide audience, but for herself. If that was so, good for her, because she did it her way. Unfortunately we've gone from the AMAZING heights of Bang and Echo to this – a book which was 4 stars until the last chapter – and then an epilogue that was ridiculous. It was the pacing of the last 5-10% that was all off. Other readers were right. The ending sucked ass. Asking readers to stick through three books for an ending like that… it was a risk. For me, it left me cold.At some points of the book, my heart was pounding and I was wondering WTF was going to happen next but when the climax came, I was expecting more. Why would that guy travel all the way out to Scotland to do what he did? Without spoiling the book, I just have to say, some fella got his revenge when he did what he did at the side of that road in the US. The whole twist in Brunswickhill felt thrown in and cruelly so, after such a passionate, heart wrenching declaration from Declan. The last chapter was a stab in the heart of readers who've stayed the course. The last chapter and the epilogue was a disregard of what readers needed as a reward for sticking by the characters. It wasn’t that I needed a happy ending… but I needed a glorious ending. For me, everything was off in that last chapter. From the way Declan confronted Lachlan with no point… to the whole snap decision to end it the way it ended. It was all off and the ending needs rewriting. Please. Consider it.Very disappointed considering Bang blew my mind. It was a complete one-off, it was beautiful, and the huge gaps between these instalments makes me wonder if the essence of that was lost a little with each additional book. But well done to EK for adding a literary series to the Indie catalogue.2.5 stars

Unbelievably brilliant.. Fantastic Author!! 5* +
Oh my goodness, I'm not sure what I want to say first..One things for sure E.K. Blair is a fantastic Author, I realised that, back in 2013 when I read Fading and then two years later I Downloaded the whole series so the first book was read twice and I still remember how I felt during and after reading the whole series, it's incredibly powerful and brilliantly written. That was then, now we've been blessed with the (Black Lotus Series) It wasn't until Novmber 2015 that I realised Bang and Echo had already been released so I was able to read one after the other which I was extremely grateful for, I haven't had to wait for Hush as long as some but it's still been a torturous one all the same but so worth it in the end! Each book in this series is equally as good but you can't forget where it all started but even in Hush you are occasionally reminded through Elizabeth's memories of the brutal years she and Pike suffered whist in foster care and it certainly bought it all back nothing is sugar coated that's for sure.Hush continues on from where Echo finished and whilst Elizabeth continues with her self loathing Declan sets out to prove her wrong but it's not easy there's so much history and so many issues between them you have to wonder will they survive together... Actually they couldn't be more perfect for one another.E.K. Blair has done an unbelievably brilliant job at captivating us throughout the whole storyline, the way she portrays her characters and conveys every conversation and situation whether it be Pike which by the way I found so emotional or Declan and then eventually Elizabeth's Father it was all told to perfection and came across so natural.I was so worried what the outcombe was going to be when Elizabeth came face to face with her Father, was he going to recognise her? I felt so nervous because it was a huge moment for both of them and after Elizabeth had witnessed his new life you had every reason to do so but it turned out to be a beautiful moment dispite the anger, jealously and resentment that Elizabeth was feeling.. and all while Declan stood close by watching and discovering another piece of her it was a very touching moment and there were plenty mome touching moments too.Just like Bang and Echo, Hush fills you with hesitation, doubt and intrigue all the way through, the Author is always one step ahead of what you might be thinking and that carries on until the bitter end, I was fooled to say the least and I'm sure like many I so wanted Elizabeth and Declan's story to end with them being happy at Brunswickhill, that moment when he proposed was stunning, I was crying by this point but didn't expect what came next I thought if anything was to happen, it might have been when they were on the roof.. We're talking about E.K. Blair here, she's not going to make it that simple.!They were all together and happy in the end though, she gave us that! What about Lachlan ??There is absolutely know mention of what's to come next, keeping us in the dark, all we can do is wait!!Thank you!

Disappointing and rushed
I felt there were too many unanswered questions here, what happened to her dad and others involved in the incident nothing was mentioned, not even with all the contacts they have, the mysterious person involved and how they managed to be everywhere at once, the ending totally was shocking, rushed and no explanation, felt I had pages missing in my kindle as it couldn't possibly just end like that with no other follow on, what happened to elizabeth and declan , how did someone get on his property when elizabeth herself tried herself in the beginning of the book. Not impressed and feel cheated, and that's a first for an e k Blair book.😠😠😤😢

AMAZING!!!!!!
OMG! Where do I begin to review this incredible book?!?! This has been the most amazing series and this final book has been an epic conclusion to a series that has been, emotional, mysterious and totally captivating. I never imagined it would conclude like this, in my mind I had so many different outcomes but nothing like this. After everything Elizabeth an Declan have been through, revenge, deceit, betrayal, rape, death and a lot of physical and emotional pain they managed to together find the true meaning of love. This book had my heartbreaking, tears rolling down my cheeks, my heart racing constantly and had me at the edge of my seat for most of it. Having waited for this book for what seems forever, I had great expectations and I'm happy to say that I wasn't disappointed. I'm in two minds however with the ending, it's not what I was hoping would happen but I understand why it has to end this way.

Fantastic Ending to a Brilliant series
WOWJust finished Hush, I will say I was scared to know how E.K would be able to live up to Bang and Echo and finish the series…I was not disappointed I can’t say much because believe me you need to read this book to know how much it will affect you, this Story and Characters will stay with me for a very Long time to come.I felt like I have lived through their story right alongside them, through all the heartaches all the up and downs all the craziness, you really do fall in love you just can’t help yourself...This one is a crazy ride Twists I really didn’t see coming If you haven’t read this series you MUST NOW!!!I am sad this series is now over but I really can’t wait to see what E.K has for us next!!!“The ugliest parts of you are your darkest.
