I bought the rechargeable unit. Not a day goes by that I don't use this. The magnification and lighting are superb. The measuring scale on its base is a great asset. This is a quality manufactured tool at a great price. I'm a geologist and absolutely love using this magnifier rather than my old hand lens because it lights up the specimen. The unit also has a UV mode that is great for checking possible fluorescence in rock.Many of the complaints from others have to do with the battery life. The magnifier requires 2 clicks to turn it off, or else the dim-lit UV light stays on draining the battery. This operator error can be eliminated by purchasing the rechargeable unit. There are no batteries to replace, you just plug it into a USB port to recharge.

I needed one to check one of my dogs eyes. I think she might have a inverted eyelash and I need a magnifying glass to check. This will hopefully work because a scratchy eyes can really be bothersome. I’ll know this weekend. In the meantime I can look at things close up and learn to use it properly BEFORE I start getting it near our dogs eye. It does work well and has two different colors of light. Four Stars⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️!!!

I bought this to act as a field magnifier for me when I’m out in the forest. I received it and noticed it seemed about the same as a regular magnifying glass so I tested it. I put a 1cm standard and then measured the view from the objective and it came out to 3.4cm, that’s a magnification value of 3.4x not 30x. The lights are nice, but not of value if the magnifier doesn’t do what it advertises. Also, the focusing ring doesn’t seem to do anything other than to raise the ring on one side, but doesn’t seem to affect the focus in any way.If all you need is a nice lighted 3x magnifier, this could be a good fit, but not as anything more than that.

This is not 30X. I see others already said so - and showed photos. I should have taken the two minutes to read. I have an 8X and a 10X. This magnifies a little less than my 8x. We will assume it’s a mistake. As reviewer Mason said, '30mm lens' is what they probably meant. Now I must get a different one but I am keeping this because the large lens makes a wide and clear view. Sharper than my 8X. Nice quality lens, wrong description.You can see it's clear but certainly not bigger than the 10X

Solid quality, bright and stays charged for long time. First one lasted couple years after daily use, very useful in my line of work
