After 5 years, still going strong.
Never got around to writing a review for this. Bought during covid when everything was closed in 2020. Paid for itself after two uses. My son and I use it every few weeks. I use #2 and it takes about 5 or so minutes to complete, then the wife trims the back with no attachment. Battery still charges with no issue. I keep the unit clean, and the blade oiled after every use. Not sure what shape the battery is actually in after 5 years, but still has more than enough to get the job done. Never died on me mid cut.IMO really was a 5 star buy. Have not paid for a hair trim since. If the unit were to die tomorrow (does not seem likely), without question would get another.

Works well, feels premium. Unique and uniquely good form factor.
I can't speak to the long-term durability as it's still new to me, but I'm generally impressed. The wide blade really speeds up trimming time and the form factor is nice overall - easily controllable and takes up less space in a travel bag compared to the long traditional trimmer shape. Also the blade guard spacers are easy to install and remove - which is not always the case with some other units.Someone talked about cleaning where I guess we're instructed to run water through the thing each time? I've just been cleaning mine off with a stiff boar bristle brush and it seems more than fine. The only drawback is the non-removable battery making the unit effectively disposable - and the weight the battery adds. I'd rather have a lighter unit with no battery that could be run wired to a standard USB-C power source.

Great! But maybe not for everyone?
Update: 10/30/17 - Over the last week the unit has started to turn itself off mid-clipping. Typically once it feels the least bit of resistance. I don't have a lot of hair on my head in the first place, so when I say the "least bit" I really mean it. I sent an email to Remington last night. They asked me to provide them with a code behind the blade and now I have a replacement on the way! Hooray! So my 5-star rating remains intact. I still love this thing. Add now to that great customer service and I'm a happy bald guy!Update: 6/14/17 - I've had this for almost a year and a half now. Still love it. Still no issues with the battery. Still 5 Stars. Still annoyed there isn't a self-cleaner for it. HA! I bought one for my father during the holidays and he's happy so far.First I want to point out that the blade is 2.5 inches long compared to ordinary clippers which are traditionally 1.5 inches. I haven't seen that extra width pushed very much by Remington but it makes a big difference. I was pleasantly surprised when I received mine and actually saw the unit.I personally rate this 5 stars; but, I'm not sure it would be 5 stars for others. I've been shaving my head consistently since I was a teenager. Then in my late 20's it pretty much became a requirement as premature balding kicked in. None of us want the "old man horseshoe head" look. So I've been through about a dozen clippers over the last 25 years. Thus, I don't use any of the guides it came with. So I can't comment on their effectiveness. What I can point out are some of the positives: trimmed my hair faster than any other clipper ever, cordless, quiet (for a clipper), the wide blade (again), doesn't get hot, easy to hold and change grasps for different shaving directions, no razor burn, and the blades are curved. Don't overlook this idea of a curved blade. At first I blew it off but once experienced you realize it is way more comfortable and form fitting on your head and neck.Full disclosure, I had purchased the "Philips Norelco QC5580/40 Do-It-Yourself Hair Clipper Pro" a week prior to this unit through Amazon. I'm in the minority here (based on the reviews for the QC5580) but I was not happy with it at all. I followed the instructions as suggested for shaving my head. You should use the clipper portion first, then you switch to a shaving adapter which gets to the scalp. I have pretty thick hair (for what remains around the sides) so it required too many "passes" for my satisfaction. For those of you that shave your head to the scalp you will understand what I mean. It's tedious to go over the same portion over and over. I also had razor burn the next day. So I sent that one back. Amazon was kind enough to provide me with a full refund. Now for some "cons" (just to be fair):- Cleaning is a little awkward. Instructions say you need to wipe the blade with the included brush, then rinse the blade under water while the unit is running, then disconnect the blade from the unit and rinse both the blades and the unit individually, then dry everything, then put it all back together and use mineral oil on the blades, finally wipe off any excess mineral oil. Each time you use the unit! Ok, so it takes maybe 2+ minutes. But in an age when facial razors are self-cleaning, it just seems like this could have a cleaning unit as well. If one exists I'd love to know about it.- You will NOT get a smooth feel or look from this clipper. This to me is why some individuals will not give this 5 stars. And to an extent I toyed with giving it 4 stars because of it as well. But I've personally only found three ways to get a smooth-to-the-scalp shave. You either utilize a hand razor (very slow, requires shaving cream, and usually razor burn of some sort); purchase a Philips Norelco 1280X (yes, use an electric razor on your head); or my preferred method by a long shot invest in a Braun 790cc. Nothing beats the Braun 790cc for speed and performance. Plus, it obviously shaves your face and is self-cleaning.In a perfect world I can use my Braun every other day and maintain a skin tight look. Some of you might say "so why the Hell did you buy this thing"? But the reality is, life keeps you busy if you have kids and sometimes you get lazy and the old-man hair creeps in over a few days. In those situations, the Braun has a rough time cutting the "longer" hair. It is meant for your face after all. That's where this baby comes into play. The HC4250 trims it down just enough to get you by for the day, and more importantly sets you up to start using the Braun again. To be honest, I'm also putting this review out here for selfish reasons. I don't want it to get discontinued! I finally have something that can clean me up quickly. If this unit ever dies I really don't want to go back to a Wahl, Conair, or Oster! It's not perfect, but it gets the job done for my needs.

Best clippers ever... almost
I'm balding. Whatever. So, I just buzz my head as I have been for the last 15 years. These are the best clippers I have ever had. The shape and super wide blades are so easy to maneuver and take so much hair off in one pass, it has cut my time in half compared to traditional clippers. Only one problem though I really believe should be present. The instructions say to run the battery until the clippers stop. OK. Only problem is there is never an indication when it is near empty. On more than one occasion now, the clippers have stopped mid haircut, while I'm at the gym. So, now I have to go home, delay my plans or work and wait until they charge up enough to finish my haircut. Not to mention looking like a fool. The LED charging, on/off indicator should start flashing or turn yellow... ANYTHING to indicate 20% left or something so these situations could be avoided.
