Skunk2 Racing 349-05-1500 Radiator for 1988-1991 Honda Civic/CRX

I originally bought a mishimoto radiator and fan shroud combo and the fan hit both the exhaust manifold and a/c line... I bent the a/c line for clearance and cracked it spraying freon and oil everywhere... I tried just using the radiator but the stock fans wouldn't bolt up... This skunk 2 radiator bolted up and dropped in like nothing I was shocked at how easy it was! This radiator was heavier then the mishimoto and was thicker by 1/3 which is 3x the size of the shock one at the core... Came with 10 millimeter bolts and nuts... The mishimoto came with crappy allen head screws with cheap washers and were too long for the radiator and would have torn a hole if I used them for the fan shroud... Skunk 2 is the way to go if your like me and own a crx! Mishimoto is cheaper quality dispite the life time warranty. Skunk 2 is only 12 months but as long as you use Honda type 2 coolant you don't have to worry about corrosion other then physical damage.

Quality piece, looks great, and it you don't have a/c, factory fans, or a B-series, it might fit. Note this has larger rad hose ports intending for a B-series swap. Neither of my OEM fans bolted on. Would fit with modification, but the claim is that this is a drop in replacement. The threaded bungs on the passenger fan appear to be welded on backward (tall vs short) compared to my OEM fan. Doesn't clear the OEM a/c lines, even with some manipulation there's still contact between the fan shroud and a/c fitting. I put on a slim drivers side fan, and it still contacted both the OEM and a Greddy header. I will say - mine clears the hood beautifully, which was a common complaint. Arrived well packaged and in perfect shape. I'd return it if I didn't scratch it up trying to make it fit.

Outlets are 1.25” not 1.1”. Stock hoses don’t fit. Was supposed to be for 91 CRX though it fits well can’t use silicone or rubber hoses for 88-91 CRX will have to buy larger hoses.

Once its mounted in the bottom grommets, it sits offset to one side and contacts the driver side condenser mount...Ive had 3 different radiators in this car over the years without any fitment issues whatsoever. Typical quality control from skunk2...should have known better by now. Obviously there are plenty of people that dont have issues, but there is going to be a risk you get a bad part like I did.

I bought this for my 90 civic hatch and contrary to what everyone says, the radiator fit perfectly without modification to the hood. However the OEM fan shroud did not bolt onto it correctly and I had to improvise a little. You definitely need bigger hoses for this radiator but I was able to make the old ones work by heating them up with a heat gun.

great rad, no bent fins, came certified from skunk2, took forever to ship here waited 2 weeks when it was a 2-4 day prime shipment, it was near the holidays though so that may have had something to do with it
