I mix Abba1300 with Abba 1200 and put the mixture through a colander to get rid of the tiny seeds. My Sun Conureloves this mix. I also pick out the really big pieces in the 1300 mixture. What I discard I put outside for the wild birds.

This stuff‘s on the expensive side, but my Gabby is a VERY picky African Grey and typically wastes SO much food by picking out all the things she doesn’t like, no matter what brand I’ve tried in the past. She’d eat ALL her food if I just filled her dish with cashews, almonds and sunflower seeds, but THAT is not an option! At least more of this mix ends up it her tummy than on the cage floor, so maybe it’s actually SAVING me money in the long run! I’ve gotten several bags already and am happy with it, so put it on auto ship! …And bonus — it comes vacuum sealed in a tight, flat package, so always seems fresh!

I was looking for a seed mix that didnt have sunflower seeds- I use those for training treats and picking them out of seed mixes is.. tedious haha. This was a perfect match- theres lots of little pieces of dried fruit and cracker things. I put them in foraging toys. My cockatiel loves the banana bits and the spicy.. berries? I'm not sure what it is but i ate it because when she tried it, she thought it tasted funny, and it was spicy. Now she loves them lol.I also like that its literally just dried fruit- if she doesnt realize its food i can eat it as well and then she gets the idea. Basically this unexpectedly became a fun activity for my bird to try all the different looking pieces. Instead of just a flat, boring seed mix, theres always a different mix of things in her bowl, which is added enrichment♥(also wasnt sure how to store it because it came vacuum sealed and i dont want the dried fruit to mold- its doing fine wrapped up in the fridge so far!)

I use to buy Volkman seed mix for my Eclectus. A few months ago they we’re putting too many sunflower seeds in the mix. Now they hardly have any. That fine by me because Eclectus shouldn’t eat anti than 2-3 a day. They are not putting all the ingredients that they use too. Quality has gone way out of control if you ask me. ABBA is a blessing. Lots of mixed ingredients and no sunflower seeds too. My Eclectus is very happy with this and his Roudybush California Blend.

No sunflower seeds is great, Have never had a worm or bug problem when using this food, I think it is a bit pricey even with subscribe and save but I have never had to throw any of it out.
