20m (21.87 Yards) of Tyvek 43gsm 1443R Kitemaking Material | Durable, Strong, Lightweight, Breathable

We purchased this product to use as footprint material for our new backpacking tents. It's lighter weight and much less expensive than the actual tent footprint and fulfills the exact same purpose.

I got a ton of it for a good price but I bought this as an art supply. I really thought that tyvek was more consistent in its overall thickness. This is thick and thin in randomplaces.I wanted it for backing my framed artwork - replacing paper dust covers on the back of the artwork. (I do outdoor shows and wanted the tyvek b/c it’s pretty impervious to water. But, no. It’s actually breathable). Worse than that is how its layers split when I am trying to adhere it to the frame back. I use ATG tape on the Frame’s outer edge, then place and rub the tyvek onto the double stick tape. I trim with a razor blade and when trying to peel away the excess I find the tyvek doesn’t stick very well. It sometimes sticks but a Lot of time its layers split. Frustrating.Lately I am sewing mailing bags out of it. Like mailing envelopes but less structured.
