Child of the Sun: Psychic & Physical Rejuvenation in Alchemy and Qabala (IHS Study Guides Series)

Ok, for anyone who does not own it yet, this book is seriously amazing. Just freaking buy it already.The first thing I should mention is that this particular volume assumes that you already have at least one of what we might call Mark Stavish's "trilogy" already, whether it be The Path of Alchemy: Energetic Healing & the World of Natural Magic (Pathways to Enlightenment), Kabbalah for Health & Wellness, or Between the Gates: Lucid Dreaming, Astral Projection, and the Body of Light in Western Esotericism, or at least study and practice methods similar to what you'll find therein. Child of the Sun works to supplement any of them, and so requires some knowledge of Hermetic Qabala, qabalistic magic, and alchemy going in.I would call this an intermediate-to-advanced book. Stavish does not teach herein any of the fundamental techniques or ideas involved, but presents loosely connected essays, musings, and pointers on going more deeply and really applying what one has learned. This book represents a full engagement with the Path of Return or Reintegration and it makes significant demands on the reader. Though I practice mostly Eastern modalities, there is a great deal in this book which was able to tie-in and even clarify certain points for me.

This book is worth far more than priced here. If you have the heart to understand what Mark is conveying here, you will truly come to know freedom. Far deeper than any new age delusions, this is a path to the “Great Work”, which takes effort and perseverance. Thank you Mark for setting the guidelines of the path…all we have to do is stick the course!

This Works! Example: an exercise involving the Divine Fire, found early in the book! Did someone say "Kundalini"? It'll happen in no-time-flat, that's a practical assurance, coming from someone who's relied on other "esoteric" practice and Western Mystery Tradition for years. These practices will literally ignite, illumine and initiate personal discovery and growth on the Way, and provide much-needed inspiration, by the same. The health benefits already obtained by my wife, who is fighting a cancerous cyst - prechemo, at the moment - are wonderful, and not to be ignored; she is feeling well and in good spirits, her functions are all normal, and there is no spread of said cyst! This book helped provide insight into a few experiences that I have had in the past but couldn't find it discussed anywhere before (even google). Great book! Mark Stavish is incredibly well rounded in his study. He also provides a lot of useful references into other authors if you'd like to dive deeper into certain topics throughout the book. Everyone on the path should read this book!

This book does help in my understanding of how different I am from the children of Jehovah. I spent the first 55 years of my life thinking and trying to be like the children of the red sun. It was a terrible existence. I am of the Green Lion......do the sun spots cause the Aurora or does the Aurora cause the sun spots as taught in secular science? Whom does the Holy Grail serve? At this time of harvest I would hope that the children of the Green Lion can remember who they are and where their true home is. The Western practices, Alchemy, etc. seem to think they can be in control of their journey thru ritual and Matras etc, and maybe these things help to focus on the inner path, but most of those that I have read about are silly play acting. I know my own path is guided and I am not in charge. I can only fight the evil thoughts that come to me internally and from external sources and stand up to the evil in the physical world that intends to defeat me. It is a war. Death comes in its own time and it is not what most think. I am eternal, but the death experience I have gone though was a sort of hell with psychic attacks that made think suicide was the only option, and the profound weakness and pain had me down so weak and in so much pain I could hardly move and I wondered it I was destined to submit to a nursing home. Things changed dramatically at the equinox. So, maybe it is all based upon time, the cosmic clock. Keep the eyes always on the Light and have faith that there is a better world.

this is not a really good book as they say its just a re has of things you can find in other books plus he never gets to the point he covers every thing in words his book on kabbalah and healing ways a really good book this guy can drive you crazy with words i thought this book ways a bought learning how to work with the sun for inner transformation and may be prana yama breathing this is the hard way to go a bought it just practice kri yoga our go to eckankar they do every thing magic can do by soul travel its the easy way and it works but there our some good things in the book just to many words that really our not necessary and all this is the hard way to go a bought it has any one ever men-shined the golden dawn ways started by rich people they has a lot of money to but this all to gather temples tools a place to work in they had all the set ups to go a bought doing this but to you who really want powerful stuff that really works just set in a chair and chant the names of god you need nothing more but you have to live the life so wen you do this you vibrate higher most people vibrate low because there not living right toward there creator our man to do these things you have to live right if you do not live right in your heart all lives to ego and its illusions all magic be comes dark because its not serving the higher self

Child of the Sun was a completely worthwhile read and full of practical exercises and insights that can be applied immediately. This is one of those must have gems that eliminates the unnecessary and gets down to brass tacks. A true rarity in the modern esoteric marketplace.

That was one of the greatest book about psychic and physical rejuvenation. "Know yourself and you will know the God", that is a profound quotation and all what we need to fix our lifes.I like the Shemhamforish section and i think i will start working with them.To be honest, each page of the book is worth reading over and over in order to incorporate the instructions into my lifestyle.

This review applies to all books from Mark Stavish. They are a series so it's worth buying them all.Thanks to ALL at IHS and so forth that seem to be working so hard to bring out a coherent series of books on the WMT as a structured set of course books, as far as I know this is the first time this has ever been done in this manner. BRAVO !!!And I make a prediction here (no not by esoteric means LOL), buy these books and look after them well (study them too of course) because in the future they may not be so readily available and I am of the firm opinion that this series will not only become classics but worth there weight in gold eventually i.e. Collectors Items. E.g. up until a while ago "Kabbalah for Health & Wellness" was not available in the UK for less than about £75 (that's 108.13 $) !I do wonder though how long it will take for copy cats to try do the same thing, which is not necessarily a bad thing for hopefully things can only improve for I am sure Mr. Stavish would admit this is quite an undertaking he and his colleagues are engaged in i.e. a Structured Path to Enlightenment from the WMT !
