How many magnets does this level have?

This particular model has four oversized rare earth magnets.- HNS Tools

I believe half here/half overseas. In other words american designed and manufactured in China. A very nice level! Highly recommended. Nice having replacement vials too.

How good are the magnets?

I’m happy with the Ideal Torpedo in total. I will say that although much stronger than the run of the mill market torpedo levels, the earth magnets are not nearly as strong as my previous Checkpoint torpedo level. I prefer the straight edges on both sides, unlike the Stabila and some other good levels with asymmetrical shapes
