Transcend MTE220S 512GB NVMe PCIe Gen3 x4 SSD, Read/Write up to 3,500/2,500 mb/s with DRAM Cache & Graphene Heatsink TS512GMTE220S

Great hard drive, replaced my previous M.2 drive in my Dell laptop with this - simple to install, really fast, boot speed is around 7 seconds running Windows 11 Pro, though I'm going to partition the drive and dual boot with Linux and check the performance at a later stage.

Got two of these on Prime Day and both of them can be ridiculously slow to read from, but when I run crystal disk benchmark, sequential reads show a good speed > 3000MB/s but when I play a game or copy files from them it's more like 30MBs, it's so slow games load with textures missing (Baldur's Gate 3 and Forza for example), moved the games (slowly) to a Western Digital SN850X (which is my boot drive) and everything instantly loads I've made sure trim is running etc, and installed Transcend's SSDScope software Apart from the WD SN850X, I'd always gone Samsung with previous drives for me and my family, and never had any problems, lesson learnt UPDATE: basically the benchmark is quick because it writes data that ends up in the DRAM cache, which then reads nice and quick at expected speeds, but if you switch off the cache or benchmark with a file bigger than the cache it is 20-30MB/s again

This was great value storage space and a massive upgrade on what I had before, but it's a fair bit slower than advertised...

Installed as a boot drive in an AMD 5600h based laptop. HWinfo reported that the drive had 99% life left even though the laptop started booting intermittently after 7 months of use. The laptop would crash randomly and after another 5 months stopped booting at all. I reformatted the drive, installed windows again and the problem remained. Re-installing the original 500mb nvme drive that came with the laptop resolved all issues. The drive never reached more than 80 degrees in the laptop according to diagnostics so I presume it just failed.

Bought 2, both faulty in under a month.

Got it for £60 for a black Friday deal. 2TB with dram Cache would have been a steel but it was too good to be true. Starred failing after a while. Doing any sort of intensive task such as transfers large files or heavy gaming would cause the speed to slow down immensely. Windows was also installed on this drive so I had to deal with constant issues with booting as the ssd was failing. Having to unexpectedly buy a whole new ssd and transfer everything off a failing one was a missive pain. Never taking risks with storage again. I personally recommend brands like Samsung or crucial. Much more reliable in my experience. Though it's entirely possible I just got the one in a million defective. I doubt it though.

Great SSD with high endurance, runs a bit hot though, so you'll want a heatsink, and if you use an external enclosure, you'll want one that has a heatsink AND fan.

NVMe di fascia medio bassa che potrebbe tranquillamente salire di qualche gradino! Comincio col dire che ho montato il taglio da 256 Gb con cache su su Asus prime A320M-K e Ryzen 3 2200G. La scheda madre non figura nell'elenco di quelle supportate ufficialmente ma dopo qualche aggiornamento al chipset e al bios e qualche smanettamento l'ha riconosciuta senza problemi. Nel Bios non la vede nei dischi in elenco ma è tra i dischi in cui si può fare il boot. Windows 10 installato letteralmente in un paio di minuti. Con la mia configurazione raggiungo 2800 in lettura e 1150 in scrittura. Sufficienti a caricare il sistema operativo in pochi secondi.. Temevo anche in un calo di prestazioni della scheda grafica (GTX 1650) ma fin ora non noto differenze.. Ricordo di settare dal bios la modalità UEFI nelle opzioni SATA e di disattivare il CSM nel boot menu.

En pruebas de velocidad me da 3100 y 2045.
