I can honestly say these JBL headphones are a great product. The sound quality for the cost is ...
I have waited until using my new headphones for at least a month before writing this review. I did a lot of research on headphones before making this purchase and spoke with many sales people about the different levels of products vs. the price. After over a month of use, I can honestly say these JBL headphones are a great product. The sound quality for the cost is excellent. I am not a high-end user but for me, the sound is very good. I had always used ear buds in the past and there is no comparison between earbuds and headphones. I use these mainly at the gym and wondered if they would be comfortable and stay on. Unlike my earbuds which always had to be readjusted no matter what type of exercise these headphones are great. No matter if running on a treadmill or lifting free weights they stay on and are comfortable for a full workout. The great thing about the phones is the battery life. I have only charged them three times for the month with a good amount of use. I also like the fact that they can be wireless or connected to the treadmill, eliptical or other device to watch TV as I exercise and it prolongs battery life. I was going back and forth about spending extra bucks for Beats etc. but was told not to by many salespeople due to hype. Glad I listened.

Good quality, intermediate size wireless headset
Very pleased with this headset. Sound quality is good, fit is comfortable, battery lasts at least several hours (still on my first charge after listening to music several times during the last week or so), folds flat enough to stick in a jacket pocket or backpack compartment. Reasonably light, too. I have worn it for up to 90 minutes straight with no hint of discomfort. The adjustments are fine for my rather large head. I use this mainly when walking, riding the bus, or banging around the house, mostly with the wireless connection. So far, very reliable Bluetooth connectivity. There is an optional wire connection, too, cable included. This headset may not be adequate for the music aficionado, but it works great for casual listening during activities. Delivers as promised!

A solid option with great design and feel
These are my second pair of on ears after previously owning a pair of beats solo wireless. I must say after one week these are far and away a superior product. Pros: -The build is extremely lightweight without feeling too plastic or cheap. I have not worried that constant use will end in a broken headband or snapped can. -Turning them on and off is as simple as possible. And after a full week with moderate use (2-3 hours a day ish) I'm not at half battery yet. -The swivel feature on the muffs helps you find that perfect individual fit. These aren't by any means complete noise blockers, but you can be in your own 'sound space.' I have kids so the fact that they don't totally isolate is nice. I can hear around me if I focus on something else. -Muffs are comfortable. There is considerable padding without that 'squeeze' feel certain a big heads like myself can experience. Granted, I haven't marathon-sessioned yet, but comfort is pretty solid so far. -Sound wise, I have nothing but positive comments. I would guess bass heads would be disappointed, but I honestly feel like they always are, and too much bass bugs me. But the highs are clear, and the slight warmness of the mids sounded quite lovely in my ear holes. Difference between Bluetooth and corded was there but not in a noticeably way that detracted from the enjoyment. -Phone calls are very easy to answer and no complaints on the other end that I sound tinny or far away. Mic works. -I left a device upstairs and walked to my basement then outside to my backyard. I'd guess it was about forty feet away either time, and multiple floors. No drops at all. Very impressive. Cons: -I have an iPad mini and an iPhone. To connect to one, I have to turn off Bluetooth to the one not being used. Initial pairing was kinda difficult to figure out because of this. I paired to my phone, then tried to pair to my tablet by putting the headphones into pairing mode with the phone still on. This disconnected my phone, which was expected, and allowed me to pair to the iPad. But then trying to go back into pairing mode, to swap over to the phone, my phone would not connect. I had to go and 'forget this device' and re-pair to get it to work. That's a lot of words, but basically it boils down to this: the sequence to have both devices able to connect was a struggle. Once figured out, it has been ok though. -Turning the headphones on and off is a simple press of the button, but anything longer than a second will cause the headphones to go into pairing mode which is maddening. Advice is: learn that on/off is a quick hit, pairing is hold down the button. -Buttons for volume and start stop aren't raised, which makes for some trial and error in getting it down. Still, didn't take long and worked when I hit the button. -The port for charging is smaller than a normal headphone jack. I'm guessing proprietary nonsense designed to make sure you come to them for possible replacement. I knew this before purchasing, but that doesn't make it less evil corporation-y. Conclusion: As stated, it's only been a week, but I am very happy with this purchase. These outperform my beats solo in comfort and build, and my preference is not ungodly emphasis on bass, so I like these sound wise too. Once initial pair is figured out, it's been a breeze and I've gone three hours with no discomfort. The swivel design on the muffs makes it very easy to fit each individual head, which is very nice. I'd say this is a great option to the non-rich crowd who want something other than beats. Update: the originals had to be replaced due to a faulty left can after over a year, which I had a warranty for. Got the new pair September 2016. It's Feb 2017, and the left can has stopped working. I'm frustrated it's the same issue as before. Obviously a design issue somehow. Probably won't be going with JBL for my new set

I am most disappointed in these headphones
I am most disappointed in these headphones. I bought this pair and within about 45 days they stopped connecting to my phone. The overall sound of the headphones is great but the main reason I bought them was the bluetooth factor. I wanted to not have a wire and I also wanted to use the microphone and be able to talk on the phone with no wires hanging around. Until they stopped working I was super pleased with them. Once they broke I contacted JBL and they sent me a new pair even though it was passed the 30 days which I thought was stand up but low and behold the second pair stopped working even quicker the second time around. I think I made it maybe 2 weeks on the second pair. JBL basically told me there was nothing they could do at this point. Its a bummer because I use a lot of JBL products and have no complaints. There PA equipment is second to none but I really think there personal lines are lacking in quality.

I want to love these headphones
I want to love these headphones. Sound is as advertised, excellent for the price range. The actual build quality overall appears to be solid, at least initially. However upon closer review, the single function "Bluetooth/Power" switch is inelegant and is at times unreliable as a power off / on switch. Also, if you look at pictures and videos posted on-line, the headphone/power connector is off center and not "seated" in the plastic housing. I am sure this is most likely ok in term of functionality; aesthetically it makes the headphones look unfinished and cheap. The charging cable has a 2.5 mm jack, why not use a mini USB like most other headphones? I will probably keep these as my primary commuter cans. They fold nicely and sound just a tad bit more rich than my Jabra Move headphones. The JBL's also isolate sound better than my toughly built Jabra Move head phones. However, the build quality of the Swedish designed Jabra's are just better than the JBL's. C'mon JBL, give the E40BT replacement a separate power slide on/off switch and stand alone LED status light. Also, seat the jack connector properly. If you did all of that I would most likely have scored a solid 5 star.

JBL Great Sound and Great Service
Great sound bluetooth connects well, lightweight and comfortable, was happy with the purchase until the one side quit working after a few months, no sound for one ear. Was beyond the Amazon return period so I contacted JBL, a few emails later and I boxed the headphones up along with a service request and a prepaid shipping label I had printed from one of the emails. I week or so later I received brand new replacement headphones which have been working very well since! JBL- Great sound, great service Thank you

Great sounding and ever easy to set up to phone ...
Great sounding and ever easy to set up to phone or whatever. Purchased for my nephew and he loves them. I have compared them to my beats and for the money it's a great purchase. The beats sound a little better but not a $100 better. The beats are more comfortable. A great item for a great price!

Great For Music. Not usable as a bluetooth for Conference calls. Probably good that its discontinued.
I purchased this item for Work and to listen to some music. The music quality is pretty good. I needed to physically stretch out the plastic so it didn't press so harshly on my ear which started to hurt over 15 min of use. The little round buttons (with triangle) on the front of the headphones fell off. Turns out they are glued on and only for style vs function - They hide screw heads. When you plug this device into your computer it charges and also functions like headphones you get stereo. however (IF) you can get bluetooth to see the headphones, I have a HP laptop, then you will get 2 ways to use the headphones. one volume control will adjust both earphones in mono mode and the other volume control adjusts a good clean stereo sound. My issue: When in mono mode (which is the only mode that works with the microphone) guests on the other end of CC state that I sound muffled like there is a cloth over the microphone. People cant really understand me. I looked for plastic or some protective cover that I was supposed to remove.. Nothing. Its just a bad sounding microphone. As a result I am going to order some other brand and this simply isn't going to cut it.
