I was so upset when I realized the vacuum stick broke after taking a hard fall. I called Dyson and they told me it would take months to make an appointment to bring in my Animal 11 Outsize in and even then, the stick was not in stock.This replacement turns out to be BETTER than the original; it extends making it easier to vacuum hard to reach places. The price was worth it, I know the replacement from Dyson would have been much more expensive than I paid here.

You need one of these and don't even know it . Till you try one . Great for hand held vac using the crevice tool the one with the light really works great . You won't have any hiding dust bunnies anymore . WOW is it handy .

UPDATED REVIEW!!!The product after only a few months kept falling apart/separating when detached from either my V8 or V10. The wires got disconnected and the product ended up in three pieces and unusable. Wiring housing fell out of wand (long black piece in first photo is not supposed to slide out) and wiring was separated.I wouldn't buy this although it worked fine for a short period of time, but wouldn't consider it a "throw away" item for the price.>>ORIGINAL REVIEW Overall liked the product. There is no "clicking" sound when installing it on the Dyson V10 but otherwise no issue in that department.Works perfect for cleaning furniture on the shorter settings and for ceiling corners that the regular wand will not reach and the longer reach for flooring and carpeting is nice.

Perfect fit for my Dyson.

When I vacuum sometimes I have to bend down to move an object out of the way. When using the factory fixed length wand, it was difficult to hold the vacuum in one hand and bend down to move an object off the floor with the other hand. With this wand, I can shorten the wand which then allows me to easily bend down to pick up objects on the floor.My only complaint is the wand fits onto the vacuum a little too tight and feels a bit heavy. It's too bad Dyson didn't think of this idea.I don't know about the durability; I've only owned it for a few months. So far so good is all I can say.

This product is well built and feels sturdier than the original wand...but since I started using this, the brush will stopped spinning in the middle of the vacuuming. It is so annoying.Update: The seller reached out with kind words and refunded me (well after the return window). Attachments do not connect properly or to take them off.

We have a V11 Outsize and the factory wand is simply not strong enough for the weight of the unit with the large roller head attached. We have gone through 2 wands now in the last year. They just break at the connection to the main housing. You can tell that the original wand is not constructed with strong enough manufacturing. This wand despite having an extension capability just feels stronger and there is no give in the main connection like you get with the factory wand. So so far this is definitely a 5 star.
