The Battic Door Whole House Attic Fan Ceiling Shutter Seal is easily installed over the fan louver from the house side in the fall and removed in the spring. By reducing the amount of heat and moisture leaking into your attic, the severity of ice dams and attic mold is greatly reduced! The back of the foam is reflective, reflecting attic heat away from house in summer and reflecting heating back into house in winter. Kits are easy to install. Simply Trim-To-Fit! Each kit includes a supply of white foam (3/16 in., thick R-8) and white Velcro. The flat-white colored foam has a textured finish and blends in with the ceiling. The foam is a solid-core that trims easily with scissors - it cannot unravel and does not have any frayed edges. We even provide white tape to wrap the edges if desired for a "finished-look". May also be used to cover and seal AC Vents and Returns! INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS: Step 1. Remove release liner from one side of Velcro and install Velcro onto perimeter of shutter. Step 2. Remove release liner from other side of Velcro and install foam into it leaving an overhang on all 4 sides. Step 3. Trim edges with scissors. Leave 1/4 in. of overhang if you wish to wrap edges with white tape. INSTALLATION TIPS: Do not trim foam before installation. Silver side of foam goes up, white side goes down. Clean edges before installing tape. Rub in firmly. If additional Velcro is desired it may be purchased in 14 ft long strips for $10.

The price is high, but it works. My husband was very careful to clean the area where the velcro would go. So far it is sticking well and definitely cut off the movement of heat into the attic. I gave it 4 stars because it seems a little overpriced.

sheet was plenty big -- but following instructions, everything went very well. Included velcro around shutter, then pushed sheet on. Looks and works great.

Just OK- for the price
product is just ok - velcro comes off of the cover when you try to remove the cover to use the fan. pretty expensive for what it actually is.
