My 2014 Acadia third-row seat only has the top of the seat anchor for a child seat, but you need to use the shoulder belt to secure the bottom of the car seat. This made me very nervous. I purchased this item to cure the issue. It is heavy-duty steel, easy to install, and I feel totally relieved with the secure feeling of the seat, using the car seat 3 point attachments the way it was designed. Good product. I ordered one used and one new. Ended up with 3? Not sure which one had an extra but not complaining either. Easy to install. Perfect for the 99 extended cab silverado. Hard to get the clips off when taking a car seat out though. Hopefully as safe as the pre-installed version. I am not an expert so i can not say. Just a mom.

I was so looking forward to this because I really needed it for my car. Unfortunately it doesn’t fit in the back right seat of my 2014 suburban. I have 4, almost 5 kids and the whole back row of my car doesn’t have any anchors in the seat. And only the left side has a back anchor. I should have checked this before I ordered but didn’t think of it. Sadly will have to return the item. So if you have a suburban, check your back seats first before ordering. the product itself is awesome. And it’s very sturdy and heavy. Would recommend if it fits your car.

This is not safe and shouldn’t be on the market. No CPST will approve the use of this to secure car seats in a vehicle.

Works on my 2012 sienna we 8 seater. Used in the last row, driver side and passenger side. Since there are no factory tie downs, this is definitely sturdier than just the lap belt. I used the bracket and the lap belt into child seat for better security. If the bracket were to fail, it would still be connected via the normal method.

I think the distance between the features to hook the car seats, is too narrow, so it is very difficult to install or remove a car seat on it. That distance should be wider to accommodate for the car seat.

We are soon to welcome grandchild #6. My 2004 Ford Excursion does not have anchors. With a little thought it is possible to drill a couple holes through the lower plate and the back of the seat bottom. In fact this bracket is made of thicker steel than the seat itself. Anyway a couple of 1/4" bolts and a little locktite and we have a better anchor than what a new car offers. This particular anchor has the lower portion that allows this fitting effort. At 1,500# per bolt, little ones are safe. Check you seat bottom backs;if there is steel there to anchor it with bolts-- this is the way to go. Good product.

I bought this for an older vehicle (1986), I would 100% fully rely on using the seat belt in your vehicle, however I don't see at all why this is a bad idea to use alongside a seat belt as an added safety measure.

Our van didn't have back car seat hooks. We got this and it worked like a charm. You do need two people to put it in but other wise it's great!
