best price for this anywhere!
This tracking system is hard to beat. Easy setup and hardly any maintenance is needed to keep this up and running. I have it on a small 12v 5AH sealed lead acid Battery you would use in an alarm system. The only thing I slightly modified is the sun sensor. I bent the two sides down so that it would be more accurate at keeping the pannels streight towards the sun. If I build another array of pannels, I won't hesitate to buy this again! 5/12/15 UPDATE: the sensor and circuit board are still intact and works flawlessly..the only problem is that the acuator cut out randomly after 5 weeks of work....i tried everything to fix it but I can't seem to get it to work...but for the price of the system and it's probably the best there is...just buy and aftermarket industrial/ heavy duty acuator the is 20"..installed new acuator and everything is back up running....don't buy the same acuator again...find a different one :)

Circuit board solder connections were not good. I had to solder 3 pins to get it to work correctly. Fortunately for me I have been in computers for many years.

AS BAD AS IT GETS !!!!!
I've never written a review but after this fiasco I must .... I' ve been thru 4 separate 1kw solar tracker controllers and 2 actuators and still don't have a working unit ...customer service was good at first but now will not return email... each unit had its own particular problems ...1st unit had problems the first few days..... they sent a new controller that lasted 30 seconds w/ the actuator failing after that too ... they sent another complete unit that also didn't work out of the box... then they sent a controller to the wrong address and then sent another one that didn't work out of the box either.... finally the one sent to the wrong address showed up and it worked intermittently and then the actuator failed .....the actuators are not weather proof as I opened it up to see if a simple wire fell off or something simple... it was corroded badly inside ... I opened the old one that failed and it was similar... the fastners they assemble it with are just plain steel.... for a product intended to spend it's entire life in the weather ..that doesn't make sense...... I read other reviews that mention bad soldering .. could be my problems too don't know .... but I guess for the money I didn't expect to have to re-solder THEIR PRODUCT.....the equipment looks professional enough ...0 instructions come with it ... I thought that kind of cheap... granted not much to them ... 4 wire hook up ...can't really screw that up ... but these things all had different issues... install the first one and it tracked the sun in one direction and would not return with the relays clicking madly ... did all the testing they asked for and they deemed it bad and sent a new one .... second one lasted 30 seconds and the leds died with no other function ...........then later testing the actuator ... I realized it failed as well and as I said it was corroded inside .... ... third one just wouldn't move the new actuator at all ..... tested actuator...worked with direct 12v both direction... 4th one would only work in one direction .... but then would readjust correctly only after disconnecting the 12v and reapplying... ?????? allot more detail than really required ..but thought it might be useful to others who bought this ...only word I can come up with is ....JUNK!!!!! I'm down in costa rica and had hoped to get this thing working ...but I realize that is not going to happen ... and now have zero confidence in anything they make .... certainly wouldn't put it on my rooftop ... and with them not returning emails ... I guess I'm just SH*T out of luck ...MIGHT AS WELL JUST THROWN AWAY THEY PURCHASE PRICE AND ALL THE SHIPPING AND IMPORT DUTY I HAD TO PAY....!!!! MY RECOMMENDATION IS STAY AWAY FROM ANYTHING THIS COMPANY ...ECO-WORTHY... MAKES!!!!!!!!

This is not an east to west tracker...
UPDATE I revised my rating from 2 to 4 stars. Vendor has done lot to work with me, and after a lot of emails, where they have been better at following up than I was, I decided to "convert" to a dual axis track tracking system. I kept the original order and bought a stepper motor and dual axis tracker, and they gave me a credit. I uploaded a few pictures. - the 1st picture has 4 mini pictures in it. The original order which has a tracker controller device/system and the linear actuator will work for a solar panel configuration on the upper left box - "Horizontal single axis tracking". This tracks the sun from north to south (not east to west). IMHO, the only way this works effectively is if you are close to the equator. I feel the way the actuator is used, if you live anywhere else you should only buy the actuator if you use a dual axis tracking system. - Look at the same picture in the lower left box "Azimuth tracker". This is what you need for rotating from east to west. To do so you need a stepper motor, drive belt or gear, and a rotating platform. Or mount a linear actuator in a horizontal position ... however the actuator will provide limited range of motion and will not be capable of full tracking motion from east to west. - I'm going to make what is in the lower right box, a dual axis tracker. I'll use the dual axis controller I bought, the linear actuator for the north/south tilt, and the stepper motor with "turntable" and a gear or drive belt for the east/west rotation. - the second picture I include shows what this purchase can do. The linear actuator will tilt the solar panel forward and backwards, which is best used for the north/south movement of the sun. - the 3rd picture shows a dual axis method to adjust a solar panel using two stepper motors. I'm going to use the bottom stepper motor to rotate my panel east/west, and the actuator rather than another stepper motor for the north/south adjustment. Also, I'm using lighter/smaller solar panels. I have two 100w panels I use when camping and I want to use them for the house when I'm not camping :) Plus this is a learning project. If it works, I'll apply the concept to my larger/heavier panels which are currently rigidly attacked to my house. I also bought a 110v to 12v inverter (12v power supply) so I can power the actuator and stepper motor. The vendor talked about using the panels to charge a battery during the day, which would power the actuator and stepper motor. I feel the power supply is simpler than adding a battery, and will last longer than the battery. ORIGINAL REVIEW Bought a single axis solar tracker to "Track the sunlight from easy to west". I was provided a linear actuator. As far as I can tell it's used to tilt panels north/south, up/down, forward/ backward, & can't rotate panels from east to west ... I live in an area where the sun rises and sets over a 270 degree arc during summer and the is no way a linear actuator which extends and contracts a rod will be capable of rotating my panels 270 degrees from east to west. My question is especially pertinent for a number of reasons: 1) this comes with a remote for the controller, the controller, a sun sensor, and the actuator. 2) Only the actuator has instructions, which are basic at best. Basically the actuator instructions say to connect the red and black power wires to the controller red and black. OK, but now what? 3) I contacted Eco-Worthy, who emailed a decent reading user PDF for the controller (not great but I understand it) , and in their email they instruct me to connect the actuator red/black wires to the controller green wires (what?) And the controller red/black wires to a battery. Great, now I have to buy more product. 4) Unfortunately, the are still no instructions on how to connect a linear actuator in a way which rotates my panels 270 degrees from east to west )

Excellent tracker!
Ok if you want a simple to set up tracker, this is the way to go. The only reason I'm not giving 5 stars is the package had no instructions in it, but it does not take a rocket scientist to figure out how to make it work. I did contact the original manuf (ECO-WORTHY) and they sent me some basic instruction within 24 hours. The item I got was different than the one shown, but much better. The controller came with an LCD display that gives way more information that the version without the display (here instructions would have been nice to figure out what all the information on the display meant, but again with some basic experimenting I was able to figure everything out.) Also the system comes with a remote control to manually adjust the array this is also not shown in any information that can be found here on Amazon or ECO-WORTHY's website. This would be a 5 star review if this system came with more information (instructional and technical). I have already ordered a second single axis system and am getting ready to order the dual axis system. I would definitely recommend this system to a friend! UPDATE: After a good week of going back and forth in emails to the manuf. I finally have the correct detailed instructions for the tracker i have. Very helpful if your patient and ask clear concise questions. BTW the tracker has been in the field for a week now at a hunting lodge keep 4- 6vdc batteries on an RV charged with no need to start the generator on the coach. Exactly what I was trying to accomplish!

NOT weather resistant!
I purchased this solar tracking system in March 2018. I installed it on my property during June 2018 but did not install the solar panels until this week. The actuator did not work! I found that the seals on the actuator motor had allowed rain water to seep inside the motor housing. There has been less than 6" of rain since I installed this actuator! When I removed the housing screws, I found it was full of water. The casing screws were corroded, the contacts were corroded. After drying it out, cleaning the contacts, and adding some sealant to the outside of the casing, it works. BUT....it is advertised as being weather resistant and it is not! ADDED COMMENT: I contacted Eco-Worthy and they sent a replacement actuator. The replacement was obviously used. Although the motor worked, the screw shaft for the actuator arm was broken. I will buy a different brand actuator.

Works but no directions included.
No directions with it at all. Worked well enough to move two 44inch by 77inch panels around on my home made heliotrope. Must be very careful to avoid binding at extreme of motion when finding mounting points or you will bend the extendible shaft irretrievably. Price seems to be good value.
