PureFlow HEPA Cabin Air Filter PC99505HX | Fits 2016-2021 Tesla S, Fresh Air

just installed it last week so haven't had chance to fully evaluate its performance. Item arrived earlier than expected. Removing dashboard trim pieces around glove box compartment is straightforward thanks to Youtube videos but not exactly easy or intuitive if it's your first attempt. The musty odor that prompted the replacement after 40K miles is largely gone. Appearance wise, there is no way I could discern any difference from the OEM filter I pulled out. From the look of the debris in the old filter, I probably should have replaced it 3 yrs ago, or on an annual basis. Due to Covid pandemic, I don't drive as much as I used to and traffic is much lighter during commuting so I really can't evaluate how much pollution/traffic fumes the filter is able to block out. Hopefully time will tell & I'll update the review once I accrued enough miles. Much cheaper than Tesla OEM and will be well worth the money as long as I don't have to replace it as often to take into account the labor involved.

The Amazon title states this is a "HEPA" filter. According to the U.S. Dept. of Energy a HEPA filter removes at least 99.97% of dust, pollen, mold, bacteria, and any airborne particles with a size of 0.3 microns (µm) (NOTE: That is what your Tesla HEPA filter does). Nowhere on the PureFlow website or on the packaging does it state this product is HEPA rated. In fact, it states the product traps 99% of airborne "contaminates" and provides no micron size information. "HEPA" only appears in the title, which is VERY misleading and should be removed by Amazon. You are not buying an actual HEPA filter.

Purchased from the manufacturer, but it wouldn't let me post my review. Good: Affordable compared to OEM. Had a foam border on the outside to keep a snug fit into the filter housing. Bad: Filter seems half the width of the OEM filter, so even with the pleats, the surface area is less. There is an odd smell, like a new foam mattress, but it's too early to tell if it will eventually outgas and go away. Filter doesn't seem to perform as well since I can still smell grass and exhaust from other cars. After the effort it took to replace the filter, I'll probably leave it in, but then look for an alternative to replace it in a year.

Used as a retrofit filter for a Tesla S that didn’t come with the “Bioweapon” filter. Easy to do and works great.

Nice product but it doesn't filter the outside odors like the OEM filter did.

Not too difficult to install however removal of original filter requires ripping it free of the filter frame/bracket and the cutting away the old glue with a razor which turns out to be quite the workout. If I had it to do over again I would not buy this because it is much thinner and not nearly as good of a filter as the original. Too bad Telsa won't sell us one for a decent price. The one big difference i noticed was the smell of fuel from stinky trucks when driving in traffic. With the original filter that would never get into my cabin unless I rolled down the window.

Do Not Buy! Cheap repackaged Chinese crap. 2020 Tesla Model S. While the filter length and width were fine, the problem is that the filter thickness was only 1.5 inches. Factory thickness is 2.5 inches!

The delivery arrived on time and was well packed, when installed the item was exactly as described. Happy to recommend this seller.
