Completely sold on these skin-improving vitamins
I've been buying these locally for my son for a number of years...but recently noticed that Amazon's price was MUCH better (at least it was at the time of this review). I prefer to use food-based vitamins for my family, primarily for the benefits derived from whole-food nutrients. These teenager-targeted vitamins are also entirely free of sugar, lactose, wheat, gluten, and yeast and are gentler on the stomach than other vitamins that I've bought. My son can take these on an empty stomach; while the big-name drugstore brands must be taken with food or he else he gets queasy. I have the same situation with stomach tolerance of vitamins so I take the "Women's One" version made by this same company. While 3 tablets is the recommended dosage of this teen vitamin, it does say that you can adjust the dosage to 1, 2, or 3 based upon your dietary/skin improvement needs. Although the tablets are rather large, he has no difficulties with them. I do wish they would switch to vegetable capsules which are easier to swallow, though. The herbal blend that helps to improve skin really does make a difference. My son headed off to college shortly before his 18th birthday. I sent a supply of his vitamins/supplements with him. At some point during his freshman year, he backed off of the vitamins...only taking 1 tablet a day instead of the 3 (and none at all on some days). By Christmas holiday, his normally clear skin was having fairly serious problems with breakouts. I guess he was trying to conserve the vitamins...but right at the time when his body probably needed them the most because of added stress. I sent several bottles back to school with him with the recommendation that he go back to 3 tablets. Huge improvement by the next time that I saw him. He's now 19 and I recently asked him if he wanted to switch to Rainbow Light's "Men's One." He's decided to stay with the teen version for awhile longer to help keep his skin clear.

Works wonderful for clearing up acne!
I found the Rainbow Lite Teen vitamins on another site and was interested in the "potent skin clearing action". So I read all the reviews and was impressed on how many said they actually worked. My teen son has been going to the dermatologist for 1 1/2 years and has been on a couple of different pills and topical treatments. His face was still breaking out and he had quite a few noticeable black heads which just would not go away. He started taking the vitamins - 2 a day the first week then he switched to 3 a day. Within 2 weeks all of the blackheads were completely gone. It was as if all of the impurities in his skin were pushed to the surface, like the blackheads, and when he washed his face, they just came off. He's now been taking them a month and his skin looks the best it has looked in 1 1/2 years. Not a breakout in site. And his skin just looks so much healthier. I can't say enough good things about these vitamins. Many people commented on the smell and the size. Yes they do smell and they are large - about the size of a one a day, maybe a little longer. My son doesn't think they are that big and he says nothing about the smell. Signed up for the auto ship through Amazon, don't want to run out, they are a keeper!

Great price for food-based multivitamin for teens
My 12-year-old daughter recently decided to try eliminating meat (beef & pork, and eventually poultry) from her diet, and as part of my agreement to support her I requested that she incorporate a multivitamin into her daily eating plan. She has celiac disease which means she is very strictly 100% gluten-free by necessity; I needed to make sure anything she would be taking fell into that category. I also wanted to find a multivitamin to support her rapidly growing body; she's been going through a pre-pubescent growth spurt these past few months and was starting to develop some mild acne on her nose and forehead even though I taught her to wash her face daily over a year ago. I read many great reviews of this brand both on Amazon and several other websites; BY FAR Amazon has the best prices on this product over six other online stores I looked at, especially with the Subscribe & Save program; they cost less than half what other stores are charging. It's hard to find plant-based vitamins at a low cost. I am only giving these 4 stars because I have no way of knowing if the vitamins and minerals inside them are actually absorbing into her system without running bloodwork panels, and she has also complained about their taste not being great (as is the case with almost every multivitamin I've ever taken). But I like that these include iron (important as young women begin menstruating) as well as higher levels of B complex vitamins for energy; for 3 tablets provide 30 mcg of B12 (or 500% DV), which is a missing vitamin in my daughter's no red meat diet. They also have probiotics and other herbs to aid with digestion, and the bottle says these can be taken on an empty stomach. However, my daughter always takes them with her breakfast, along with an additional D3 supplement and a small glass of orange juice (she says the OJ helps the vitamins go down more easily). These are gluten-free, sugar-free, lactose-free, dairy-free, wheat-free and yeast-free, but are not listed as vegan; they DO contain soy lecithin. I started having her take 1 tablet daily until we knew her system was handling them well, then after a week we added a second one into her routine. The daily serving size is 3/day, but because she is still under 80 lbs I don't think she needs the full dose yet. These are pills for swallowing, not chewing, and they're solid and larger than my capsule multivitamins, so your teen needs to be proficient at swallowing larger pills in order to get them down. She wishes they were more like my pills (Rainbow Light Organic Women's Daily MV) so that I could blend them into a smoothie for her, but short of breaking them in half, which would scratch her throat going down, there's not much do do about that.

THE SIZE MAYBE UNAPPEALING, BUT THE BENEFITS ARE WORTH IT
I take the women's version and have for a long time;knowing how well they work I started my teen on them. If you do your research you'll find "not everybody needs a vitamin". Teens with their change in hormones, and less than adequate diet. It's a good idea now I take R.L's version because there a more soluble version than for example One a day. My system looses nutrients because of medical issues so for me it's wonderful. Teenagers are finicky and what one says settles fine the other will say the polar opposite. My boys take these, no complaint( except yes the size but it's certainly not a deal-breaker ) and have been for several months now. They use to take one a day for teens but the company decided to change the formula and make it a gummie for me that's a deal-breaker! I switched them over to these and both my boys have commented on the less acne, and easier on their systems. Not making the "repeat visit" and fairly frequently have been known to take them on an empty stomach. One of the niceties of R.L vitamins; they work with your system and are absorbed naturally not causing nausea feeling. I highly recommend them.

Best supplement facts label. Best front label.
Five stars because of the list of vitamins, minerals and supplements on the back label. Spent considerable time comparing vitamin content. Reviews and comments took me to many different brands, however at the end of the day this vitamin supplement stood alone. For example, Magnesium. Rainbow offers 300 mg per serving (3 tablets) while magnesium was non-existent in some other brands. We bought these vitamins for our 14 year old son. He was taking *no* vitamins but a nutritionist suggested a light amount of a multivitamin supplement might be a good idea because our son is a picky (very selective) eater. We now give him just one tab a day with breakfast. So far so good. He does not find the pill hard to swallow. In addition, the front label also offers information that separates these vitamins from other brands. Such as: Food based. Promotes healthy skin. Energy, bone, immune & stress support. Easy to digest. Gluten free. Dairy free. And there is even more info on the front label. These are important considerations for a child in their teen years.

Our son loves this
This is a very good vitamin. I've looked it up on several vitamin research lab websites to make sure the contents are what they say they are. My son has a hard time with digesting most vitamins and this one is not a problem. Since it has digestive enzymes, he takes them after having a few bites of food and makes sure to take them with meals. He's been taking them for quite a while and this winter, he has had less illnesses than he usually does. We do eat well, but he seems to burn off the vitamins faster than I can get food into him! I'm not sure about the "acne clearing" components, but his face is less broken out (but this was never a huge problem with him, just small break outs). The nice part about Rainbow Light vitamins are they are food based, gluten free, with no sugars or any junk! Our doctor recommended these as they are what he and his family take.

Great results experienced!! Tastes horrible.
My granddaughter reports that the size is way too big. Taste is awful. Imagines it's what hay tastes like. I have to crush the pill and mix it in applesaucefor her to get it down. Love the benefits of the pill! My granddaughter has routinely taken other vitamins with minerals and suffers with fatigue due to lyme disease. These vitamins are the only ones that have boosted her energy and made her feel good again. She stopped taking them for 3 days because of the size and taste but started feeling tired, fatigued and faint again. Once back on Rainbow Lite she was back to her normal self. She eats dark green colored applesauce every night now without complaining about the taste. The benefits she's experienced outweigh the horrible taste.
