When it says low battery, do I need a new battery if it is plugged into the wall?

I bought mine because it did not have a battery at all so I could only use it plugged in. I would think yes though that you need a new battery. Over time they do get like most rechargeable batteries and won't hold charge any longer.

Will this work for dm111?

No, that battery will not work for the DM111. The DM111 takes two AAA rechargeable batteries which are found everywhere.
