Tinted Mineral Sunscreen for Face SPF 31, Zinc Oxide Sensitive Skin - Light

I like that this product can act as both a natural mineral sunscreen as well as a light foundation or BB cream. It provides more coverage than the tinted Kokua brand and similar coverage to CeraVe’s tinted mineral sunscreen. But I prefer this over CeraVe given this has only natural ingredients and the active ingredient is non-nano zinc. Leaves a dewey finish. I’ve included some pictures of my face without anything on it and then after application. I tried both the light and medium tints, and the medium was too dark for me, but you can see a picture where I have the medium on half my face and light on the other half

Being Asian, I am prone to hyperpigmentation and this sunscreen checks every single box. Highly rated by the EWG for safety, it has the highest percentage of non-nano uncoated zinc oxide that I have seen on the market. Being in Southern California, I do a lot of driving and am always trying to get some extra protection on my driving side and feel confident that this sunscreen gets the job done. I have not had any new dark spots on my face. It is also waterproof and one application lasts me the whole day if I don’t sweat excessively. While it is mineral based and can be a little goopy to spread it is worth the extra effort. I combine it with a vitamin c serum to make it easier to apply. It can feel heavy on the face at times, especially during the summer months but I find that is a small price to pay for such great coverage. I consider this sunscreen a beauty product and it is part of my everyday routine. If I find that it gets a bit oily, I use a powder over it and it sits nicely on my face. I have the tinted version as well so it acts like a foundation for me. This has become one of my holy grail products. Please don’t ever stop making this, it’s that good!

Best tinted facial sunscreen I have used. Has very few ingredients and has high ratings on EWG. Bought both shades and mix it together depending how much tan I like that day. I use it instead of foundation. It even covers my rosacea.

The color is perfect for my fair complexion, and the texture made it easy to apply. Unfortunately, it leaves too much of a shine on my aging face. If it was more of a matte finish, I'd give it 5 stars.

I love this sunscreen so much. I'm extremely fair - most tinted sunscreens are way too orange and dark for me. I was wary to try the lightest shade of this one for a long time, but I decided to give it a go. And I'm so glad I did! It blends right in to my skin and looks like foundation. It's comfortable to wear and skinlike. It's not sticky and leaves no white cast. Best zinc oxide sunscreen for sure. I bought the darker shade too to contour with!

I have tried many sunscreens over the years. This one is the best I've tried. I'm fair skinned, redheaded, and 57 with sensitive skin. This one protects wonderfully, it looks like a dewy, beautiful foundation, goes on easily, and I don't even have to wear face make up, now. This will be the only face and neck sunscreen I will use. I love that it is a vegan formula, and doesn't harm the sea creatures, being reef safe. I find that the big tube is a great price for all you are getting! Thank you to the company that makes it!

I did NOT like this sunscreen. Background -- I use lots of different tinted and non-tinted mineral sunscreens. I've tried Colorescience (love! zinc oxide + titanium oxide)), Coppertone pure for face (24% zinc oxide -- super cheap and one of my FAVORITES), EltaMD (great!), LaRoche Posay (also great!) and so I'm used to how mineral sunscreens look and feel. I want to make sure I use non-nano minseral sunscreen (which Colorescience and many others are), and I had read great things about Waxhead. So I was extremely excited to try it. I did NOT like it. You have to shake it quite well to get it mixed (and this is true of all mineral sunscreens....but despite shaking and squeezing the tube to try and mix everything up evenly), I kept on getting a combo of runny clear liquid/oil and weird streaks of color. Also, the color is weird (and I understand that the tint can be different....and I've like the colors of all the other mineral sunscreens I've tried before even though they're not exactly the same) -- but Waxhead was SUCH a weird color! No matter how much rubbing, I could NOT get it to not look like a hot mess on my face. Also, I've learned years ago that you don't want dry/dead skin on your face "catching" the tinted mineral sunscreen -- so my face is always routinely exfoliated. When I put on my other types of mineral sunscreen (both tinted and and non-tinted), I wasn't having this issue. When I got the new tube of Waxhead tinted sunscreen, my face looked absolutely crazy because the tint just is a WEIRD color and the consistency of the sunscreen is chunky despite lots of shaking/mixing. Maybe I got a bad tube (after all, the other reviews online and on amazon are great!). But all I can say is that I did NOT like the Waxhead tube of tinted sunscreen that I got from Amazon. Never again!

I am always on the lookout for a sunscreen that fits my requirements, especially for my face, and I am very picky. I am always on the lookout for mineral, reef safe, cruelty free sunscreens, fragrance free, and with as many organic ingredients as possible. Also, I like tinted because the iron oxides used for the tint add to the protection. Also, of course, the tint needs to look natural and not orange or chalky as some tinted sunscreens do. I have used up several tubes of the tinted sunscreen, light/medium tint, spf 31. It is the best sunscreen I have found so far for my face, espe.cially. The formula spreads well and blends well on my fair skin with olive undertones. I use it in place of my foundation as well as for spf. It layers well with my serums and does not do the "pilling" thing that some of the sunscreens I've tried have done. I wear sunscreen every day and so I have used it in every situation, both when I am outside in direct sunlight, and during my workday, during which I sit by a window, so spf is again important! Also the greatest customer service - the latest tube I received seemed a little thinner in consistency (maybe since I ordered through Amazon I received product that was old by mistake) but Shannon, whom I spoke with, was very patient in answering all my questions, and even sent me a new tube free! Later when I looked at their website I realized I was speaking with one of the owners of the company! Love that this is a small family business who really cares about their customers. I believe in supporting small business such as this. I cannot recommend them highly enough and would give them more stars if I could!!
