Cindy Moon exploded out of her bunker and into the Marvel Universe when we first learned that she had been bitten by the same radioactive spider from the first arc of AMAZING SPIDER-MAN. She then went on to save Peter Parker's life (more than once!) and traverse the Spider-Verse alongside Spider-Woman. Now, as SILK, Cindy is on her own in New York City, searching for her past, defining her own future, and webbing up wrong-doers along the way! Robbie Thompson (writer from TV's SUPERNATURAL) fi lls this new story with his unique blend of antics and feels. Featuring interiors by future superstar Stacey Lee. COLLECTING: Silk 1-7 Review: one of the best new marvel superheroines - Silk tells the story of Cindy Moon, a young girl who was bitten by the same radioactive spider than bit Peter Parker. But unlike him she couldnt control her powers or keep them a secret from her family. One thing led to another and she ended up being locked up in a bunker for 10 years until Spider-Man freed her [ 10 years in isolation does a lot to you and this book also talks about her anxiety and depression ] Cindy returned to the real world to find out her family is missing and decided to become Silk and track her family down. This is such a great book, one of Marvel's best recent titles ( I read a lot) and In my opinion their best new female superhero. She's funny, relatable and her interactions with J.Jonah Jameson & Spider-Man are great.I loved this so much and I recommend reading it if you are open to stories that have a serious story but fun writing that doesnt allow the character to just wallow in self pity.I'm looking forward to reading her new, post-Secret Wars series! Review: Silk is great - Silk is a very interesting and well done story. I find the art works great with the mood and personality of Silk. The writing is great too. I can't wait to get the next volume. I recommend you give this comic a try, it's awesome!!

A masterpiece of modern comics
One of the finest comics I've ever read. Definitely a different sort of superhero story than what we're used to but it's quintessential in many respects. Silk is the epitome of the superhero, insofar that she represents a very relatable person that is more of an idealized version of ourselves. I couldn't help but relate to Cindy's struggle with her anxiety and it's the first time I've really identified with a superhero to such an extent. In any event, this is a must read for any comic book fan. Art is absolutely stunning, as Stacey Lee nails this character unlike anyone else has, which only makes it harder when the artists were obviously swapped out at points in the volume.

A Great Addition to the Marvel Universe!
"Silk, Volume 0: The Life and Times of Cindy Moon" collects "Silk" vol. 1, nos. 1-7, written by Robbie Thompson with art by Stacey Lee, Annapaola Martello, and Tana Ford. The story picks up after the events of Spider-Verse, which introduced Cindy Moon, who was bitten by the same radioactive spider that gave Spider-Man his powers only to have Ezekiel Sims convince her to go into hiding in order to avoid the Inheritors. This volume serves to expand on that backstory while also setting up the major conflicts with Black Cat and Cindy's wariness around Spider-Man following Spider-Verse. Most interesting of all, Thompson showcases a side of J. Jonah Jameson that doesn't appear much in comics. Cindy offers an interesting alternative to the Spider-Man narrative without having to exist in a parallel universe. Her struggles are different and her feeling of displacement will easily resonate with readers struggling to connect. While each of the artists offers a visually exciting take, my favorite is Annapaola Martello, who only illustrated issue 4. This volume concludes by tying into the beginning of the Secret Wars, but readers need not follow that storyline to enjoy this or what comes next in Silk's book.

A great place to start!
This was the first volume of Marvel comics I ever read, and I loved it! There's some stuff referenced that I didn't fully get, but the comic does a good job of filling you in on what you need to know to understand Cindy's story.

So good, I have bought this trade twice now!
This trade is amazing. I lent out my first trade and it didnโt make it back to me so happily rebought it. Cindy, aka Silk, is a bad-ass. She is a female Asian American super hero from New York in her mid 20s. Her powers are slightly different from Spider-Man and talk about great themes that are relatable for me (almost 30 year old) as well as my 15 year old cousin.

The Amazing(ly awesome) Silk
What's this? Oh, it's my new favorite superhero! Seriously, the primary art style is absolutely fantastic, Marvel needs to take a note from this book. The writing is one of the best Marvel comics I've read. Silk is such an awesome character, I really cannot wait for more. Please release a figure for her! (No seriously, please)

Another amazing story a lot of struggle. You feel her loss and emptiness of the family she has lost! Looking forward to the next adventure!

Yeah,I just had to read this version of Spider girl/woman...
The cover art was just too damn eye-catching to ignore ! Plus,as it turned out,the web walkway was significant too. Who would a thunk ? Yep,definitely taken with this Spider verse variant. I came here via the Spider Gwen route. I'd seen Gwen in the animated Into the Spider Verse and wanted more. And it seems that I'm not alone in that as the demand created a nice supply. I also read a review that also recommends Ghost Spider too. So it looks like I got my wish and might just drown in female led Spider stories. Woo hoo !
