I was originally hoping this could be used for food and house use, but it is really made to determine if a human has a fever or not and does a great job doing so. In a matter of seconds it is color coded to tell you where that person is in the range, and in this time of day is very important to tell temperature quickly. This makes it great for companies and organizations but also my family. It seems fairly accurate in terms of making quick checks which also makes it great for checking kids temperatures. The price is a little more than I was expecting to pay, but otherwise I would recommend this for everyone.

This infrared thermometer is accurate, lightweight and user friendly. A must have item in your array of home health tools!

I like this product for ease of use. However, its memory function seems to interfere with the accuracy of multiple readings. If I take my temp, change modes to object temp check, then change modes to return to check my own temp again the result is different by anywhere from .3 to 1.0 degrees Farenheit.. Also, several other devices I use at my gym have the user hold the device in place for about 1 second until you hear a beep to view the reading. This seems to be more reassuring. However, this device is a keeper for convenience.

This product consistently measured 97.1 degrees from my forehead, while my actual temperature is 98.6. I don’t think the surface of your forehead is ever the same as under your tongue. So what I did is re-calibrate the device using the Seller’s comments...with one exception...I used my forehead instead of 98.6 water. It was a little confusing for me to follow the sellers instructions due to the language translation and wording that they chose, so I took the liberty to re-translate. Hope this helps others..... Disclaimer : Your device will no longer be accurate after adjustment using your forehead as a means of calibration. This is how I adjusted my device. 1. Place the inaccurate device at an ambient temperature of approximately 73.4-80.6°F for more than 1 hour. 2. Add a certain proportion of hot water and tap water to the container, and use an accurate thermometer to monitor the temperature of the water in the container until the temperature of the tap water and hot water is 98.6±0.1F. (I used my forehead) 3. Turn on the device and press the buttons "MEM", "CF", "MEM", "CF", and "MODE" in sequence, the machine will enter the calibration mode at this time. Align the lense of the device with the “warm water in the container” (I used my forehead) for about 3-5 seconds, and then press and hold the trigger until you hear a "beep" (after the trigger beep) and then release the button. 4. After calibration, use the trigger to measure your forehead to see if the measurement result is around 98.6 degrees F......done.

I was looking for a simple, easy to use non-contact infrared thermometer for my mother who is 103 years old and can’t be bothered with the oral thermometers. This particular infrared thermometer uses 2x AAA batteries ( not provided), easy to insert at the bottom. There are only 2 settings : baby bottle temperature and humans. After 4 days of use :it is accurate, reliable and easy to use. In addition to showing the temperature there are green , orange and red lights for easy reference. I have already recommended this model to friends because it is not necessary to purchase a more expensive version.

I use this thermometer on a daily basis and it works great! So far, I’ve not received an inaccurate reading as others have indicate they received. It’s quick and easy to use and has been extremely reliable for me.

This is very cheaply made. The unit does not function immediately when batteries are inserted. It takes a few tries for the connection to work. The plastic is very cheap, and it fell apart from a 2 foot drop. My friend has one that looks the same, costs the same, but is much better built. It works, and is easy to use... They just cut corners in materials. Disappointed, and would not buy again

that failed after 3 years of occasional use & most of its time in a drawer in the bathroom. Read several descriptions and reviews and decided to buy this one. I like the features and ease of use. The accuracy is very good for people, but I have not used it for objects or food yet so I cannot give any opinion on those features.
