Worth it indubitably…
Typical exceptional makita quality. I used these with the associated makita bit holder testing them out on spax screws as i was unconvinced that the spax bit was gripping the screw as well as it could. These makita bits resulted in a significantly better grip on the screw, no question about it. I probably should point out that that a typical bit holder from the usual brands does not hold these bits as well as the makita bit holder. So you will probably need to get the associated makita bit holder to reap the full benefits of these exceptional bits. Far and away the best bits I have tried.

very durable
The bit that came with my drill was much softer and stripped itself out, trying to get a stubborn screw off. These 2 inch Makita bits are much harder and did not strip and therefore I was able to remove all the screws with one bit. No detectable wear on the bit afterwards. I also suspect they are made to a more correct size than the freebie bits.

These are good bits
I’ve been using makita bits for 20+ years. They have never failed me. The red or the yellow tool brand have given me problems and I always go back to makita.

Great impact bits
I have owned several impact bits that wear out quickly... these actually last. These are non-magnetic, but they fit well into screw heads, with no slippage. And I haven't had any rust or corrosion on them, even after many months of both use and sitting idle in my tool kit.

Good quality
When you buy a box of hex head screws it comes with one poor quality bit. Before you are done it is wasted. These bits don’t last forever but they are way better. I love them.

Subpar bits
I love Makita products...except for this one. Two have broken at the tip using a Makita impact driver on a 2 out of 4 torque setting on construction screws that are 2.5 inches long. Driving the screws into kiln dried 2x4s I expect much more enduramce from tips. Steer clear is my recommendation

Love Makita Bits - quality you need at a good price.
Makita make quality bits. They’re hard & long-lasting. My go-to for construction.

Not every wood in SA is SA pine softwood.
Broke after driving 12 Spax A2 screws into pre-drilled hardwood. Resorted to using some no-name driver with more success despite using a bit holder.
