Amazingly effective tool. A must if you get bitten a lot.
I am someone who ALWAYS gets bitten when the mozzies are out, even with deet spray, and other repellants, so this product was a no brainer for me, but I had no idea how effective it would be. In past years when I've been bitten I end up with dozens of scars from the bites (and the resultant scratching and re-healing). However this year, as soon as the massive red blotches appeared, I treated them with this and it killed the itching completely. As a result the bites healed up completely within a week leaving zero scars or blemishes. I will say that the heat does hurt a bit in use. You are effectively *ALMOST* burning yourself, but the results are SO worth it. The small amount of discomfort is massively outweighed by the total elimination of days of itching. Having seen how well it worked I would have easily paid double the price. Definitely worth the money. In terms of ease of use, its one button. I don't think it could be much simpler.

Surprisingly effective for insect bites
Really impressed with this little device. It heats the bite area for a few seconds and helps reduce itching and irritation quite quickly. Easy to use and small enough to keep handy when needed. Works well for mosquito bites and similar insect bites.

Useful for a guy named "Most Attractive Man" ten years running by "Mosquito Weekly" magazine
I may not be the most handsome guy in the world, but mosquitoes think I am utterly delicious. I can't seem to attract a human mate, but whilst mosquitoes exist, I will never be alone. Yes, I really did win those awards. Last year I was even a centrefold... I am covered in a very different kind of "love bite". Hey, they say love hurts, right? I was very sceptical that this product would help - I've tried the "clicker" ones which produce a mild electric current, which feel like a rubber band being slapped against the bite, but apart from slightly electrocuting me, these left the bites feeling just as sore and itchy as before. So, electrocuting myself doesn't help. Antihistamine creams give the bites a lovely sheen and seem to bring out that attractive redness, so I look like I'm covered in greasy boils, but they don't do anything for the itching either. So, understand I was sceptical that a device which heated my skin for a few seconds was going to do anything, but hey, I am a single middle-aged male who can only get mosquitoes to come anywhere near me, so I have spare cash to waste on more useless gadgets. I don't spend it on dates. The thing is though, this little gadget pretty much works. It won't cure your bite magically, but it does calm down the itching and reduce the swelling a little. You can use it for 3 seconds or 6 seconds, but I am a very hardcore, rugged bloke (yeah right, I wouldn't be single if I was) so I went straight for the 6. Anyone impressed yet? Date? No? You turn it on with a tiny switch, which seems unnecessarily tiny, even to a bloke like me... Seriously, it fine for me but it's very small and and it's white on a white background so could be easier to use. Once it's switched on, a single click gives you 3 seconds, a double click gives you 6 seconds. Same principle as a computer mouse, but more awkward because you're holding it at an angle on your skin with one hand and trying to do a quick double-click with the other. Someone else doing it for you would help here, but this presents obvious problems for someone like me. Bitter, I? Anyway, it's hot but not unbearably so and it's all over quite quickly (oh dear, I am just handing people the lines now aren't I?) It could be redesigned to be easier to use, especially for people who are covered in mosquito bites and so, like me, may have difficulty in getting other humans to approach them. It is the bites that's the reason. I believe that. I need to believe that. Anyway, seriously. A couple of ease of use niggles aside, this product works to reduce itching and swelling from insect bites. It cools down very quickly and is compact and easy to store. If you are as attractive to mosquitoes as I am, whether or not fellow humans feel the same about you, it's worth a look.

Works brilliantly on midge bites
It really really works. We live in NW Scotland where the midges are a nuisance in summer. Everyone reacts differently to bites and my partner reacts particularly badly, not only itching but nerve pain all over his arms where he's bitten while working outside. I react badly on my legs where every bite turns onto an itchy lump. This machine has a tiny circle which you hold on the bite and press the button once for 3 seconds of heat or double click for 6 seconds. At first you think nothing is happening then it gives you a tiny burning pain. It's actually really quite painful (depending on body area) but that's kind of the whole point. That short pain confuses the nerves and it stops it from itching. You can experience the same effect by heating a teaspoon in hot water but unless you are very careful and have a good thermometer it will be very difficult to get the right temperature. It has to be hot enough to hurt without being hot enough enough to actually burn your skin which is very difficult to do. This machine gives you a perfect safe dose every time. Note you might read online about heat denaturing the protein in stings etc but that's not what's happening here. So if you are wondering if it works on midgie bites, yes it does. I got a few yesterday and I woke up this morning with a burning itching lump on my ankle, I'd obviously been scratching it in my sleep and it was already hot and puffy. This would normally cause my misery and take ages to go down. I got up and gave it a couple of good zaps and it gave immediate relief. 10/10 recommendation to anyone bothered by bites, wouldn't be without it now and much better than antihistamines. I was a bit disappointed it comes with a disposable battery instead of being rechargeable but you only turn it on for a few seconds at a time so should last ages.

Astonishing results
Just come back from Arles which is having a bad mosquito year and every bite immediately healed.. just from a burst of heat from this amazing tool. I’m on blood thinners so if I scratch bites I end up bleeding all over the place, but with this, not a mark in site!

It works!
Whilst not happy at needing to use this gadget, I’m very happy my money wasn’t wasted and it actually works. I made the purchase as I could no longer buy my reliable after bite spray, anything good always seems to get discontinued at some point! The feedbacks were good and I took a punt. I got bitten but couldn’t actually see where the bite was for around 24 hours, I thought I had three, turned out to be only one. So the two areas that didn’t have bites got little blisters from using the gadget, I’m not complaining, it still helped with the initial itching. I started using it after around 10 minutes of realising I’d been bitten. It was still very effective and started working as soon as I used it. Normally a bite would make me swell up and itch like mad for 3 days, I’d be constantly scratching, despite using antihistamines creams. Using this there was practically no itch, I used it no more than 10 times over a 24 hour period including the non bites. I used the 3 second button only, I would say on the second day I used it around 3 times which were uncomfortably hot, but it did the trick and didn’t need to use it again. I had none of the usual swelling either. My partner used it straight away after being bitten and only needed one go of 3 seconds. I’m very impressed & will be keeping this near me during the biting season.
