Recently moved to Indiana from California and have been having rust issues. How can I remove and prevent further rust buildup?

I use Mobile One gear lube 75 w90 for my knives. Put a dime sized spot on a paper towel and rub it in. It removes marks on the blade too.

What is the diffreance between 1660ckt and 1660 n3x?

1660CKT is the Leek (1660) in satin black. 1660N3X is not a model of that Kershaw has ever produced to my records.

Will the knife work properly if I remove the clip ?

The clip is not needed for basic knife functions. Though, it makes it much easier to access when the knife is clipped to your pocket. It has been the best everyday carry knife I have owned, hands down.
