Wonderfully informative book
What a wonderfully helpful book. This took principles I already knew I wanted to follow, and made them make sense. Book was in great condition and arrived quickly. Looks great on a bookshelf too. I plan to buy the toddler and child editions as well.

best purchase for parents!
One of the best purchases we have made in a long time! The text size is perfect, making it easy to read and understand the valuable Montessori principles. The book also provides practical images for organizing the baby's room, which are incredibly helpful. Additionally, the list of age-appropriate, skill-targeting toys and a lot of useful information for parents. We've started implementing some of the principles, and our little one loving it so far. We are learning so much together as a family. I highly recommend this book to all parents looking to raise their baby with love and respect.

Good Foundation
I thought this book was a lovely foundation to the overall teaching. I'm a nanny and have learnt bits and pieces of this practice over the years. I think it's paced beautifully in the sense you can take it month by month and prepare yourself without feeling like you need everything. It shows you how it can be done but does not pressure you in any way to do it in a particular way - your personality first. My only reason for 4 stars is that there were a few topics that I thought were either misleading or wrong - especially the part about giving birth and suggesting mother's who have a caesarian could swab their baby with their fluids (also known as vaginal seeding) there is not enough research to see if this is 1. Effective but most importantly 2. SAFE! But as for the teaching I've being implementing it at work and have enjoyed the results and the differences in the children

Very helpful for Montessori beginners
Loved this book. It explains well few Montessori principles that really are the basis for everything that comes next. Loved the schematics about how to organise the baby room. It also provide a list of age appropriate and Montessori inspired toys with relative explanation of the skills the tor is intended to target.

Okay, but some concerning advice.
There are some brilliant ideas in this book and it does give a great overview of montessori principles. At times I'm left wondering how much they really apply to infants, or whether they really only come into their own at age 1+. The main reason for my low score is the judgy tone that I feel runs throughout the book. Somehow the author manages to make you feel bad whether you formula feed, pump, breastfeed or any combination of all three. I personally have breast fed my eldest and am currently breastfeeding my second. This book started that montessori principles suggest to wean at around 10 months to encourage independence, and that breastfeeding should only be for nutrition - you should try to avoid feeding for comfort (and also don't use a dummy!). This is ridiculous advice and goes against WHO guidelines to breastfeed until 2yo and against LLL / any other reputable breastfeeding resource about comfort feeding. I'll pick and choose the bits from this book that I like and want to implement with my new baby, the rest of it will just get ignored. I would strongly urge any first time parents to not rely solely on this book for parenting advice!!

A gentle and inspiring read for new parents
As a mom, I really enjoyed this book. It explains the Montessori approach in a simple and calming way without making you feel overwhelmed. I loved how it focuses on respecting the baby, encouraging independence, and creating a peaceful environment from the very beginning. Even if you don’t plan to follow Montessori perfectly, this book gives beautiful ideas that can help any parent become more intentional and connected with their child. Easy to read, practical, and very inspiring.
