I just received this pillow. It is much too firm. Is there a less firm version of yhis pillow?

I thought so too when I first tried it. But I gave it a try for a few days and my neck has never felt better. I’m not sure if there is a less firm one available maybe look for one that’s not memory foam but one you can remove the filling from if it’s too much.

Can you use it for back support in lying position?

Yes, you probably could. Although it's mainly supposed to be used for the neck area for support. But if you are asking if you can use it to place at the lower part of your back where the arch is then yes it might help and feel good there! But I think it might be a little uncomfortable for very long. I think a smaller pillow in the small / arch part of your back would be better for there!
