my mother wears an 8 to 8.5 wide shoe. what should i get her 8 or 9? she has wide and swollen feet

I wear a size 9 1/2 M shoe and sized up to a 10. Fit was fine. These are comfortable if you have neuropathy like I do. Like walking on air. Love em.

are these wool or wool-like? I'm allergic to wool.

Actually, I got these for my mother who also allergic to wool and she's had no issue work them. Take caution the severity of your allergy my be more than hers.

If you purchased them on Amazon, the home page of the product usually says if it can be returned . Look on the right hand side of the page

Do these provide any ankle support?

I purchased them for my mom who is a diabetic, she really loves them. I really had the swelling of her feet in mind. So they really support her feet more so than the ankles I would say. She has no complaints.
